I think the team's strategy of focusing on developer and streamer nurturing is the right one Making the first set of platform features benefit streamers is a great way to show a small group of people with a large, well engaged reach what the platform can do for them.
With that in mind, i've brainstormed some ideas of future features that could further this cause and that i think would create a really fun environment for streamers and fans to play in, feel free to comment on what you like, don't like, think is impossible etc.
Stadia Feature Suggestions
- AppCam – Stream to YouTube from your Chromecast Ultra while using your phone’s camera as a Streamer webcam and microphone
- Party Stream – Simulcast your gaming session across you and your buddy’s YouTube channels! The same stream will be sent to subscribers of everyone in your party who wants to stream to their YouTube Subscribers. Your viewers will see what’s happening on everyone’s screens and can choose their own view!
- Enhanced Party Mode – Unique UI experience for when you are in party with your buddies. Your Stadia dashboard will show all the games you have in common that support your party size and allow your whole party to vote on what to play next. Streaming to YouTube? Let your viewers pick a game for you with Crowd Choice!
- Game Lending – Own a game and think your friend will love it too? Use the game lending feature to add it to your friend’s game library for up to 3 hours of play time. You can use this on any game you own, with one friend, up to once a month.
- Highlight Reel – Long streaming session? YouTube will automatically create a highlight reel of the best bits that you can customise and choose to publish to your channel.
- v Fans – Games can support a high score leaderboard for streamers that ranks them against their fans
- Game Mode – Just say “Hey Google, start Game Mode” to sync Stadia with the Smart Lights in the room via the Google Home app and really get into the zone, no local sync boxes required.
