Family sharing, 2 players at the same time

Jump to Best Response

I'm a little bit disappointed by the mechanism of sharing. My brother is trying stadia and I thought that we could play together with family sharing at Sniper elite 4. Ok it's not possible but why this can't be a nice functionality added to stadia ? Like this, people in same family would buy more games, and not the same games twice or more if they want to play in coop.

I think that stadia should think about at last sharing 2 copies of the same game between 2 members of a family (not more ok). Now sniper elite 4 is not offered anymore in the pro stadia account, and the game cost 70euros. This create weird situations

That is a cool idea! I think that is up to the developers to offer such option, of course with the help of Stadia.

Never thought about it that way. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Hiya @Haldrix,

When you buy a game or have a Pro claimed game you have one license.

So within your family you can use the license. I think it is pretty sweet you can share this license. It doesn't make much sense to give free licenses away. So I am afraid your request will not come to Stadia, but then again you never know.

You can share your Feedback with the Feedback option within the Stadia app or stadia.google.com. :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I understand the logic but in fact something could be done just for co-op games. Like a shared licence only available for this specific game mode.

If you want to play solo then ok, only one player at the same time but co-op...

Stadia can also negociate with game developers to include a specific pack to their games which would allow the owner of the game to invite a player of his choice to a co-op game without the latter having the game in his library.

This pack would of course cost less than the full game and would only allow inviting a player to participate in co-op.

this pack would not offer the possibility to play the game alone (for the guest I mean). It would be a shared license. that is to say that an invited player would not have the possibility of having his own stats, these would be reset (or accumulated, see the easiest to do) after a change of player.

To have your own stats, customization, etc., then buy the game.

This can be good for both parts. I would pay more for this feature, editors could win more players and money and Stadia too

Thanks for your reply.

I would ask the devs of the game to allow it. Even on other platforms that have family share like Steam, only one person is allowed to have the game running when it comes playing online.

The exception to this are games that allow guest users to play like Geneshift Turbo, Invisigun Reloaded and a few others.
