I was under the impression that Stadia was like Netflix, I just pay a subscription. Now I'm hearing that you pay a subscription AND you pay for games.
Is this true?
Because if so, BAHAHHAHahahhaaaaa
Thank you in advance.
If you have a Pro subscription you can claim several free games each month. As long as you continue your subscription those games remain free to access. If you drop the subscription then you lose the free games. You can always buy games, most with discounts, which you will always own regardless of your subscription status. Are the free games worth the subscription? Some are good, some are so so. I think as the library of free games expands over time there will be a sufficient selection, along with the discounts offered on purchased games, to justify the subscription.
You can pay for a pro subscription for which you will get games you can claim and play while you pay that subscription.
Or you can pay for games and then play them for no subscription.
Or you can do both.
Hope this clarifies the situation, you can claim a free pro membership to try now for 2 months, so maybe give it a go and see how it works for you, if not safe travels.
Why paying for games on stadia is bad when on PC and console you do pay for them on top of buying the platform to play them...? But on stadia they have to be free?
You get 2-3 free games per month which more than pays for your subscription plus major discounts on most games. How could you expect to play any game, unlimited, for $9.99? Have a read on Netflix's financials...their business model is failing.
Like everyone has said if you go with stadia free you can buy the games. If you have the pro version you get monthly free games an can chose to buy other games sometimes at huge discounts. The free games and the discount makes the pro version worth while in my opinion.
