But I don't think Google has fully bought into Stadia just yet. I know this was more of a hardware event, but they know how many eyes are watching this. They could have easily made this it's own segment.
On top of that we know the new chromecast won't have official stadia support until potentially June 2021. That is insane and not in a good way.
After seeing this event today I'm left even more concerned. A part of me thought next month was going to be a big deal being the one year anniversary and all but now I'm not so sure.
I have a feeling next month will be some game announcements and probably Uplay+, but nothing memorable you would expect for an anniversary.
It almost makes me think a change of leadership may be worth considering. In this tough market we need someone like john legere the former ceo of tmobile. He was aggressive and provocative, but effective.
I hope Chris and Grace see this.
It was a little disappointing. At very least I hoped it would get immediate Google TV support. I do still have high hopes for the future. And looking back we have come a long way since launch.
Yes it's strange their own service won't work on it. You would think some manager at some meeting would say "hey, we're talking about Youtube integration for Google TV, but what about Stadia?"
A certain other fruity smartphone maker out there wont ever let something like this happen..
Google, how come?
I was actually impressed by how much air-time Stadia did get. Some of the marketing was pretty good! I do wish Stadia would be officially supported on the new "chromecast" before 2021, but I'll just hold on to my CCU for now.
Again
