Destiny 2: Beyond Light - Family Sharing not working

Jump to Best Response

I purchased Destiny 2: Beyond Light for Stadia, expecting to be able to share it with my Family, but unfortunately it does not seem to work. Weirdly the game also does not appear in my library. There is no indication the the add-on content is not sharable. I would expect big bold letters on the purchase page saying so. I'm very disappointed the other platforms allow you to share this content, but not Seasons pass which. It's funny Stadia does not.

@TheOrcBarbarian according to the help page, it's stated that add-ons cannot be shared by family share. I understand Destiny 2 is a bit of a special case here, since the base game is free to play, then if you're adding content, it's considered as "add-ons". So in this case, expansions and season passes will not be able to shared through family share.

I'm not sure how it works in console, but in PC it behaves the same way as Stadia, so that you need separate license for different individuals.

I do agree that it would help to have more visibility on the terms.

I find it weird that you're not able to see the game in your library though. Are you able to play the game? Also, how long ago did you purchase the game? If you just purchased it recently, it might take some time for the transaction to be reflected.

@Ivan, thanks for getting back to me. I read the Help page and it's cryptic at best, possibly fraudulent, especially when the item description does not state whether it is or not.

You cannot share "some add-on content". If that is so then each item that cannot be shared should be explicitly stated, in large font

The consoles don't do a better job about telling you exactly what can be shared. Sharing works a little differently on Consoles as they don't have linked "Family Accounts" instead you have a "Home" or primary console and all purchased content is available to any account playing on that console, and the account that actually purchased the content. Like PC Stadia, The Seasons Pass in Destiny is an Account only upgrade.

@TheOrcBarbarian I absolutely agree with you, that the description is really vague. I've escalated to the team, as Destiny 2 is not the only game experiencing this kind of behavior.

The only way to share the dlc is to share frommain account and on secondary accounts dont purchase/dl Destiny 2. If you play from a sub account without "purchasing" destiny 2 (click on shared game version), it will share all dlc. However, if you purchase on sub account, it will no longer share.
