Dear Stadia team

I was Stadia curious from day one but jumped in on March 2020.

I loved the idea that I do not have to buy a console nor a pc to play games.

The barrier of entry was supposed to go away yet I had to order the premium edition and subscribe to PRO.

I will never buy a gaming console again because now I do not have to... 

Now, that Cyberpunk delay put to light a bigger problem...

The same problem that "Netflix of video games" brought up... LACK OF COMMUNICATION.

That Neflix of video games thing came because there was no communication at all for months so people started to speculate, this issue could have been avoided if you had said from the start that games would have to be purchased so people would not have false hope.

Even though CDPR are the ones calling the shot for the game, you should at least communicate, give us a road map of what to expect, when and how...

• Where is Youtube live streaming?
• Where is family sharing thing?
• Where is crowd play?
• Where is live assistant (when you just ask some one to help you with a level)?
• what is next for Stadia?
• When will we get software upgrade?
• ...

When Sony showed that crazy unreal engine 5 demo, Microsoft when right after claiming that the Xbox series X can do it but you Google stayed silent.

Sony just revealed 54 next gen titles coming to PS5 but Google stay silent.

For an innovative company like Google, the lack of communication is crazy... No road map, we do not know what does Stadia got for us in the long run, we do not know what to expect, where we are going, I am afraid we will get disappointed by that IGN summer of gaming because I am sure Sony and Microsoft will bring the big guns but I feel likeStadia will not show something that hype us...

Look, Stadia has a shot, a big one during that gen transition because only hardcore fans will buy the next gen console within the first year but other will not jump on Stadia if they do not see something interesting and if stadia stay like this, with old gen graphics, no vision, no communication, why would people try and buy games they already own...?

I hope other members will contribute to this open letter and that the Stadia team will actually READ this post (and comments) and reply.

To be fair microsoft and sony promised loads  of new feature with launch of xbox and ps4  it called pr bull**bleep** overhype but most gamer fall for it evertime  let get realistic of early games released on last generation consoles 1 was triple A title the rest was average the same  goto happen with xbox1seriex and ps5 im sure stadia will improve over time  it been rock ride some highlight some low point and the last thing il say is stop believe the  all the hype most gamer dont care!! Just play the games and enjoy

Thank you for this. To be honest, I doubt they'll even read this post. I'm tired of generic answers on Twitter telling us that there's nothing new to share and to what tuned to social channels. I love Stadia but the fact of the matter is that it's still missing the most basic features - we don't even have a search bar for the store! What would be appreciated is proper engagement with the community here and on Reddit letting us know what they're working on and little updates here and there. We can't depend purely on speculation.

Also wanted to add, the Stadia marketing needs some improvement. All the ads I see just promote the Pro free trial when signing up, but most people don't even know that there's a free tier! One of the best parts about Stadia is the low cost of entry. No monthly fee, no new hardware needed, if you purchase a game you can play it for free on existing devices. The Play store app rating has now dropped to 3.4 because of how many people don't understand the basic premise of Stadia.

I’m not really understanding why people complain that they have to pay for games. Where’s the logic? Did you honestly believe that getting stadia pro meant that every game would become free to you? No! And that was never something they claimed. They said certain games will be free every month and remain playable as long as you’re a Pro member — this is identical to PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass (original and ultimate). So the store doesn’t have a search button, is that really a primary concern of yours? I can think of better uses of their time like ensuring that next gen developers get on board prior to and after the PS5 and XSX releases. That will be critical to the survival of Stadia, and honestly I want next gen games more than a search bar. I can handle waiting for technical features to be added as long as games play well, and boy do they. I have every current gen system and I’m quickly already buying duplicate games on Stadia because they play so much better there. Unfortunately I’ve only gotten extreme hate for liking Stadia so much because elitist a**hats have to follow a narrative or risk being banished by their fellow elitist gamer a**hats. Also, Stadia does support keyboard and mouse so I’m not sure why that was brought up? Do any of you have ANY idea how hard it must be (and is) for someone to develop a brand new console-like gaming environment when you’re a company that has never tackled gaming before, and you have decade-old gigantic powerhouse companies like Sony and Microsoft to go up against? It’s practically impossible yet here we are. That they got this far is a testament to their achievement and how many gamers want change. A lot of us dedicated console gamers are sick of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo’s bulls**t. Stadia is working to add many features that the others just straight up refuse to do. I think of ESO specifically, having access to the PC server and getting to try expansions a month before consoles is amazing and I get to play my original PC characters again. Maybe the progress isn’t fast enough for you, but the progress made is undeniable — and I will be a very happy and willing Stadia apologist to defend it.
