Darksider Genesis available to purchase for Stadia....but there is a catch...

£34.99 Stadia UK Price  vs £22.94 Steam pre-purchase price, £26.99 normal price

Umm...this pricing model for Stadia is interesting....

Kudos appreciated if deserved.

That pricing is awful what is worse is I see people justifying it, I already know I am out.

I also saw the answer "Price of being able to play it anywhere", What?????? Alright, it's ups to the publishers but there should of been a similar deal to what steam had - 28.99 and the price on STADIA 39.99. get out of here with that no mental gymnastics will ever let me pay that much more.

@Pasta That was a joke, you need to calm down buddy. Not a single person has justified it, so stop making things up.

Actually several have on a different thread, and I don't "buy" it, so I won't BUY it. They lost a sale, simple as that.

It's hard to tell what is a joke and what isn't because I've actually seen people use that over at reddit to justify it, so my bad didn't mean to come at you like that! It's just this whole STADIA thing is becoming a hot complicated mess.

I was logging in to make a post about this. Thanks for posting it. I was debating whether to get this on Steam, or Stadia. On Steam, it is listed as $29.99...also with a $5 promotional sale earlier. On Stadia, the game is listed as $39.99. Any ideas?

@Weezus :

I won't make a recommendation either way, Darksider isn't really my type of game, so I can't see myself buying it on either Steam or Stadia.

I like the concept of Stadia, being able to play on a big screen tv without any hassle is kinda cool.  I disliked the noise that my original Xbox One makes from time to time, I hated the noise levels from my XBox 360 even more, PS3 wasn't exactly quiet all the time either.  So actually not having a console to play games via Stadia on TV is actually pretty cool.

Equally, I like being able to easily start Chrome and have a play too, but does it really justify the extra cost..... I don't think so, certainly not yet for me at least.

Yes, the subscription is optional, but even still when you factor all of this in, is it value for money vs. buying a console or maintaining a PC and keeping hardware up to date over the years.. I still don't see the value of Stadia as that high yet.  My PC is used for vastly more things than just games, and while I don't have the latest graphics card, processor etc, it does get its upgrades over the years and in fairness it's doing great still with a lot of recent games and software, so it's certainly not all doom and gloom for older hardware yet.

Ultimately it will be my children that make the decision as to whether Stadia is a good buy or not, they will let me know soon enough if they prefer it to the other platforms that they have access too.

Kudos appreciated if deserved.

The sad thing is, this isn't the first game on Stadia to do this. I noticed Kine is £5 more expensive on stadia than on the epic games store, I've yet to buy a game on Stadia as I'm hesitant I'm just going to be ripped off as the base price is cheaper on any other platform

Ironic since Kine was blasted a little bit for being an exclusive over at Epic, and it's cheaper there. All the rules of marketing and sales are being broken, and it's bizarre. I bought Kine, didn't even compare prices because I wanted it on Stadia. I want this for Stadia, not Steam. The price was right on Steam.

It's kind of amusing actually. It's not "the price to play anywhere" , it's the games console price. Being released with the pc version and prior to Xbox and ps4 version is actually hurting it. It's not uncommon for games to be priced at around $10 less on steam at launch. Could it be a licensing thing? I won't justify it as I don't particularly like it myself, but we need to chill.
