Controller unresponsive after lag

Jump to Best Response

Example: F1, Throttle is on 100%, after a lag, the throttle becomes 0% even tho I am still fully pressing the right trigger.

Hi @TwinkleStar,

Do you play with the Stadia controller? It sounds like the lag is causing a small reset on the controls.

So you are racing holding R2, internet drops in speed/quality causing lag, controller reconnects and doesn't seem to update the controller state of the R2 button.

Which seems to be a logic explanation for what happens. Not sure what to do about it except send Feedback with the Stadia app or stadia.com

Also had this issue when my controller was connected to a not so decent 5 GHz WiFi network. Bought new network gear but also changed to 2.4 GHz WiFi with the controller.

Maybe worth a shot.:smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hi @TwinkleStar, thanks for posting about this. I marked @RXShorty's post as a Best Response because I believe they have identified the root issue, which is a disturbance in your home network. Some tips include:

  1. Ensure your 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks have different SSIDs, as when they are the same, it can cause disruptions.
  2. Try connecting to the 2.4GHz network with the controller, and the 5GHz network with your play device.
  3. If possible, play with an ethernet connection.
