It seems that most games are often both, temporarily active&playable digital online events, and, actual playable games that will remain playable in exactly the same way as when you bought them. Both to different varying degrees of each and often also changing over time.
Isn't it a consumers right to know, to get atleast some sense of the Online player activity data of the game we buy, to get atleast some sense of the playability and accesibility of the game?
Buying a game and waiting hours in line to play it with no actual players active in the game (or part of it we want to play) and no way to acces or know any sense of online activity data, not only hurts the reputation of the game itself and all other multiplayer games in general, but also makes it less accesible/playable in a proper way.
Who/what benefits from hiding this information and why/or are gaming companies excluding it, or are gaming companies not allowed to gather/share this information?
Thanks
I believe this depends on the producers of the game and not Stadia.
@Greenhill just curious, what kind of online activity data that you wish you be available? How is it different compared to other platforms (PC and consoles)?
Me personally, I'd like a simple number indicating the amount of players online, at the least. If that is even possible/feasable/allowed/appropriate to be known/shared.

Yeah dont we deserve to know that info from the producers if we are buying an online game or a game with online modes? We deserve to know what we are buying, not? As a players online, number count, is kinda part of what we are buying acces to... I cant psychicly tune in to the ethers and gamble or guess how many players are active online in the community when buying an online game or a game with online modes.
Again, this is something that the producers of games should work on it. I recommend you to contact their support and request this as feature request.
btw, using third party solution you can find the number of actual player using bot (Destiny 2) and probably will exist some solution for other games with online activities.
Hey @Greenhill - Do you mean like how you can see how many are playing each game on Steam?
No, not stadia or steam. Those are not representative of the actual amount of players playing online/onlinemodes that can only be known by the game servers I assume, and the actual developers who own the game, right?
Was just curious why developers dont share that info. And if that is even appropriate or not.
I find it improves accesibility allot if it were shared. Not just prepurchase but especially after purchase. To, for example, know what time to play. When to play when not. Helps waste less time.
Spend allot of time in line waiting for a gambling guess work of wether there are players available. And when purchasing a game it is also impossible to know the community state with 0 info available on it.
