Connection through new TV

Jump to Best Response

I've had Stadia pro for about a year.  I like to play on my TV!  3 months ago I got a new TV (Samsung) the old tv is a TCL Roku TV.  Now the TCL TV, no issues!  Now on the Samsung with Chromecast, the Connection is poor and I get many warnings "your game may stop, check connections or network,

I've tried everything..Google Stadia support was not of any help.  So It's got me blaming my internet service.  Today I bought Nest wifi router and point.  Is this for real?? A gimmick to make you buy think it's your network, so I purchase a new router.. I;m not sure.

Hi @Honesty21,

Did the new router and mesh node help?

And are you using a Chromecast Ultra connected to the Samsung or some manner of Chromecast functionality built in to the TV? Did you have the same setup with the previous TCL TV?

How is the TV/Chromecast connected to your network - Wifi or wired Ethernet?

I've tried another HDMI port, did not work.  Tried wired.  I get my new router in a couple of days....hopefully that works.  If not I'll have better wifi coverage through the whole house either way. :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I got myself a newst wifi router half a year ago, and it improved my wifi speeds tremendously. Now whenever anyone has a problem I recommend that they get a new router, not necessarily the nest wifi but literally any router they buy personally instead of the garbage that comes from your isp. It's a worthwhile investment even if you don't want to play stadia.

I have not yet received the new Google maps Wi-Fi routers should be sometime this week.  And it's connected through my internet Wi-Fi.

Are you using a Chromecast Ultra attached to the back of the TV or a Cast functionality built into the TV? Were you using the same setup on the old TV?

Yes I'm using the same Chromecast ultra that I had on the old TV.  Same set up.

Would it be possible to try it with a wired connection to see if that helps?

Or you might see if a different HDMI port makes a difference - or, better yet, a short HDMI extension cable to get the Chromecast body a bit further from the TV itself, which could potentially be interfering with the Wifi signal?
