Hi guys,
I recently bought some game for Stadia and they worked fine for the first day.
I have a 200 mbs/s connection and ping is quite low.
First day was awesome ![]()
But unfortunately since the 3-4 days after I'm no able to play any games again...
I always receive when starting any game the message that my connection is not good enough and I therefore cannot start any games. I tried everything including port forwarding and calling our internet service provider to help fix the problem. The IT guy did somehow fix it for a few hours with port forwarding but the game ran in horrible resolution but now it's again not working. I really don't understand why it work so well on the first day and for the following nothing worked at all.
But I somehow figured that if I use a VPN connection the games work but not in great quality.
Also it works with the my mobile hotspot but the connection of my smartphone is not comparable with the 200mbs I have with lan.
I'm 100% sure that the problem is linked to our internet or Stadia and not to any hardware because we tested it with several computers and it work with different connections (like VPN or hotspot).
I'm living in Switzerland and would like to know if any of you had a similar problem and how you did fix it.
Thanks!
#Update
When I start any game I receive a warning that my connection isn't good enough after that I get another warning that it might lead to problems to play it with an unstable connection, then I can play for 2-3min and then my game closes due to bad connection. As stated my connection is more than capable and should handle this. I played today via VPN and it worked pretty good for 2-3h.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for stopping by the Stadia Community Forum. With the help of your reports, the Stadia team was able to pinpoint the issue specifically with players that have Swisscom as their Internet service provider. With that being said, a fix has been deployed, so please let me know if the issue persists on your end.

I have the same Problem. Also live in Switzerland, first day i played about 4 Hours without a problem. Today everythime the same message, connection ist not good enough. Internet speed test results are about 180 mbit download, pin about 5. No other problems with the wifi. any others have the same issues? By the way: when stadia worked, its AWESOME :-). Would be nice for some help, thanks. And sorry for my horrible english ![]()
Actually today it seems I have the same Problems...
I tried 15 min ago to play with VPN or my hotspot and got every 3mins kicked out for "Not having a good enough" connection and somehow my WIFI worked today as well but there I have the same issue...
I have Swisscom as Internet provider, you too?
Thanks a lot, have Swisscom too. Yesterday i played first time Stadia, everything perfect for about 3 to 4 hours on my Pixelbook. Have to say, that i changed my Router on Thursday, to Internet Box 2 Fibre, but not working on fibre because its coming in april.
Did you test it on LAN without wireless? I have no chance to test it because im Wireless only ![]()
Yes, I tested Lan and WLAN and with both I had the same error results
Should we write directly to Google?
Unfortunately there is no mail or number to contact... Only Twitter Facebook and a closed chat.
Maybe we can send them this forum post so they see it and can help us.
Why not. I googled the problem, also took a look in tis forum. this problem happendened before and in other countrys. perhaps time solve this problem, but we could ask google.
I have the exact same Problem for Ethernet and WLAN... it works over a VPN and I contacted google support which just gave me their default resolve connection issues response. I'm not sure if the issue is on Swisscoms side or Stadia but I'm pretty certain it's not on our local network.
Ok after spending more time to find out what happens I found that the latency when starting up the game is horrible (+105 ms). When I use a VPN I get around 16ms and everything just works without any issues. I'm pretty sure that it is a problem from Swisscom. Either just bad routing to the stadia server or they are throttling those connections.
Did you try to change the DNS to the Google DNS?
Not sure if it works but maybe it helps.
Sounds indeed like a strange thing with the ISP and Google that is not working out correctly.
Didn't work for me ![]()
That is to bad...
I am not sure what the issue can be, sorry have to point you to the support of your ISP.
Maybe they can setup a trace and find out what the problem is.
Same Problem here. Location: Zuerich Provider :IWay. Just started today. Almost never really can connect over Ethernet.
Which day the problem started or how long was gaming fine? I played the first time last saturday, everything was fine. Sunday till today, the connection problems persists.
I started today. It never run fine.
also try with vpn and then it works good
Same issue here.
Works fine with VPN. My provider is also Swisscom.
Do you have any resoultion yet?
I'm sure it's a problem with stupid Swisscom and their routing.
No solution until now... I just keep contacting ISP and Google support and hope that I eventually get to 2+ level support where they actually try to do a traceroute. So all with the same problem should do the same that the priority for this rises.
I sent an Message to Swisscom three days ago, i think they are working on it.
Funny I had today a phone call with Swisscom support and the ones responsible for handling this are from "Swisscom My Service" because Stadia is an external service. They told me that they did not receive any complaints and that it would not be justified that they invest more resources into this because it's more likely that it's on Googles side... Also if not couple of hundred of people complain then they will pretty much just wait.
The only thing they did was check if everything with my internet is ok.
In my chat with the google support they noted the issue (at least I did not get the mail to "fix my connection") but nothing more.
and is the Google Support able to tell what exactly the problem is?
f*** Swisscom - this makes me so angry
Well... That's pretty unfortunate....
I mean most people will not put as many effort into this and don't suspect that it might be a provider issue, therefore Swisscom will not receive much complaints.
I myself called Swisscom some days ago and had a Support guy for like 30min in line who checked for me all the ports and he couldn't really resolve anything or tell me about if there were any people with similar problems.
It would be nice to hear from googles side what could cause such problems... They should know better.
Hii,
a friend of mine has the same problem (provider: Swisscom).
Has anyone tried to reset to factory settings their router or flash its firmware again?
no
I think the only way now is that Google can exactly tell us whats the issue with Swisscom. Only that way there is a chance Swisscom will solve the Problem.
Same issue here with Internet Box 2 from Swisscom. Over LTE (also Swisscom) no problems, just a little crapy image quality but no message that my connection is unstable. ![]()
Hi. I created a thread in the swisscom community forum:
