OMG. So I've been posting about my saga getting Stadia to work with my Chromebook. I was usb tethering my phone to deal with the stuttering of image and sound with my Chromebook. The PC has ethernet and was always perfect. This week I realized that at my girlfriend's house, I could play without tethering the phone, but still at my place, I had to tether. Finally dawned on me that changing the WiFi channel on my router might help since I live in an apartment in a very crowded area. OMG, it's night and day! No more problems! Something with the phone's WiFi radio gave it better performance than the Chromebook's radio. But now that I'm on a clear channel, the Chromebook radio does just fine. Phew, no more workarounds needed!
Easiest app I found for figuring out what channel to use is WiFi Analyzer by "farproc" on the Google Play store. It has a screen that lets you easily see what channels are clear. Hallelujah!
This is exactly what I did to fix my problems, where occasionaly I would run into an invisible wall in destiny, due to the controller losing connection for a second. Had no issues since
Also make sure you are on the 5 ghz wifi for stadia
Hi if it another tip is to split router at my home my kids and wife use 2.4ghz for her lap top and the kids for netflix and i have the other half for stadia with 5ghz not argument in house most good wifi router have the option
It's all pretty much covered already but here is what I generally do:
I always enable both 5GHz and 2.4GHz as separate wireless networks on the router, I then connect what I'm using for Stadia to 5 and connect everything else to 2.4, a bit monotonous but worth it.
I use something like WiFi analyser on my phone and see what the clearest channel is, then change mine to that. I also turn off any option on the router which will auto change to what it thinks is the clearest channel. Periodically Ilook to make sure the channel is still the least congested.
Never really had a problem on wireless, good topic to post, Kudos @RJpianist
