So I've recently got Stadia Premiere Edition, and something I noticed right off the bat was that I can't navigate the Stadia menu mid-game. (And by Stadia menu, I mean the menu that opens when you press the Stadia button.) Because of this, I can't see my achievements, do friend things, and I can't even leave the game sometimes. (I depend on the "leave game" option that exists for some games.) This goes for every platform. I heard people say they fix this by using a wired connection, but that's not an option for me. Is there any way to fix this by using a wireless connection? I would say that I have a really good internet connection, despite being wireless.
Besides this your games work totally fine? It's just the stadia menu that has issues? A very strange problem as i've never experiences it, perhaps a controller reset, or update might fix it? If either of those fail I recommend contacting support, it may just be some strange glitch with a faulty controller
@Babaganuche7 The games work totally fine! It's just the menu for some reason. I factory reset both my controller and my Chromecast, but same issue. I do believe signal strength might be the problem now that I think about it. When I connect to my 5G network, the game works fine, but I can't navigate the menus. When I connect to my Wi-Fi extender, since it isn't 5G, the games run poorly, but I can control the menus just fine. The extender signal strength is fine, but my 5G network has a weaker signal strength. Maybe that's why...?
I recommend turning off any devices that might be using your wifi, and trying it while your network is less congested. It may also be worth downloading a wifi analyzer and making sure your wifi channel isn't congested.
@Babaganuche7 So I got a wifi analyzer, but I really don't know how you can tell if it's congested. I have, however, turned off other devices that are using the wifi. Same problem.
yours might look similar to this. The more stars the better the channel to be on. The access point number is how many devices are on that channel, generally the fewer the better.
How do I know which channel I'm on? How do I change it? @Babaganuche7
If you go to the far right tab on that screen, look for your network name, it should tell you which channel you're on there. Log into your modem admin panel to change your channel.
@Babaganuche7 Ah, I dunno the login for the control panel. This may take some time
It may be located on a sticker on the modem, but before we did that did you see which channel you're using? Does the app recommend it?
@Babaganuche7 Channel 1. Not where I wanna be, haha
Gotcha. If you're able to switch I would start by using channel 6, let me know how that goes when you get a chance.
Did you end up fixing it!?
Sorry, I am still having troubles with it.
I'll mark yours as an answer if I manage to do it. @Babaganuche7
What device are you using?
@DrCentz This is happening on every device you can use Stadia on. Chromecast, PC, Phone. Only if you are using a controller, though.
I not sure and not engineer, but sounds like wifi is disconnecting, and the other stuff is going thru bluetooth perhaps?
factory reset controller and reset wifi and perhaps try on 2.4.... if you have wifi that is 2.4 and 5ghz, sometimes there is that confliction on choice, try turning off the 5ghz and see what happens?!?
@DrCentz Already ahead of you! It's not necessarily wifi disconnecting, and I don't think Stadia uses Bluetooth. It's entirely Wifi; even the controller, I believe. I don't remember if I pointed it out yet, but I have tried on multiple networks, one 5G, and one that's not 5G. The one that is not 5G has a better signal strength, and with that one I can control the menus. But if I use that one, the game doesn't run very nicely. I am trying to get everything to work with my 5G network. The games run great, but thats where the menu problem occurs.
