I've been playing FFXV for around 18 hours and suddenly the game won't allow me to save. It gives the error: "Could not save game. Play will continue, but current progress is not saved." I tried reloading the instance, and waiting a while, no dice. Tried reloading previous saves and get the same issue. Anyone else experience this? Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/flBEs4Y

Same issue a little over 14 hours played. Stadia support says Square issue. Opened ticket with square. Happened 3 days ago still not resolved, I have checked several times each day. Some users on reddit claim it works sometimes or if you do x,y,z in game saves start to work again but hasn't for me.

Wait for SE to fix it as it seems google won't has they blame SE.
Had to have the agent ask around but I got an answer. They are aware and working on it. Shawn said the following:
"This issue is currently being investigated by both parties and there is no update as of yet. I'm not sure why they pushed you back to us as they should be aware of the problem."
In short, they know there's is an issue and are trying to resolve it. If I had to guess I would say that the way the game is formatted on the server, as it is essentially a computer, is switching the storage device to read only. Final Fantasy XV has had this issue at one point or another on every platform.
Problem came back.
I'll give it some time but if no fix is made then google will have to offer a refund for selling a broken product and fight over the loss with the developer.
I will try the listed fix and see if that works for me. Hope it works for others
I have already requested a refund since I don’t believe that SE can fix this problem very soon. I am not sure google will accept this request, but anyway it is really unfortunate that this is the end of my first purchased game on Stadia.
I'll try this when I get home... Hopefully. It would be nice to have a temporary fix until they remedy it.
Tried this with every place you pay to stay and every camp combination available to me. Tooks hours to do and never worked. Someone also said started working 10 minutes after they tried but played for and hour still can't save.

Ah, thanks for this! The photo thing seems to have fixed it. I had saved 50-60 photos, deleted down to about 25-30 and saves worked again, but it did take several minutes to kick in, I think. After deleting, the error message came back a couple times and then went away.
Not working of me. I deleted all of my photos and I still can't save the game. Tried deleting a save, but couldn't figure out how on Stadia.
@Solaras... regrettably there isn't a way to access the save file to remove it. Tried as well before I figured out such.
I know it's not the ideal solution, but I was able to request a refund for the game because of this. I bought it as a show of support for Stadia, but it's unacceptable to pass the buck on responsibility like this. I can buy the Royal Version on any other platform for less than I paid on Stadia. I'm incredibly disappointed by this. Unacceptable treatment of Founder customers. If more peo
ple just refund a game and hit Google in the profits, maybe they'll put more effort in with taking charge of such issues, instead of fobbing it off to consumers who pay Google to do that!
@Javriel The refund is a courtesy as technically, per the terms and conditions of such, an inability to save or a corrupt save file are not defects. Regarding your approach, Google makes their money on the memberships present. The refund primarily affects the publisher. I too am disappointed; however, we entered into this knowing that it was early access to a new tech. Bugs were bound the happen. Even with this inconvenience, the platform has exceeded expectations.
I'm not entirely sure of the intent of your response. The publisher is hit by this but so is stadia. They are not showing the accountability for delivering games that work on a gaming platform.
I note your defense of the service, and I remain glad I invested at this stage, but I find the inference that I should expect to pay 25 quid for a game they may not ever find a way for me to save a bit ridiculous, frankly. It's not a teething bug, this crap was in the PC release way back when.
As long as Google and SE keep passing the buck to each other about who is responsible for fixing it, I will continue to be disappointed
Why do you think an inability to save is not a defect? It is true that Stadia is just started but not a beta testing service (is it?).
Anyway, I got a refund. If they can fix it soon, I would be happy to buy it again.
15h in and game can’t save anymore from there...
Everyone, I have the same issue with saves. I played 15 hours and after the titan mission the autosave is not working anymore. Save manual either.
I want a refund but how do you ask for it ?
@Nilas in the stadia app hit your avatar in the top right. Purchases > the game you want to return > request refund.
I used their instant chat support, and I got my refund in minutes.
These chats and supports are always so hidden.
