Subject says it all. Used to be able to launch games from my iPad using safari, now the play button never shows up, and the chrome browser complains of a poor connection, regardless of how close I am too my router.
thanks for taking the time to reply! I’ve been having the issue since April 19th, so I gave up and contacted google’s support. After working through all of the troubleshooting steps that I’ve already done, they let me know that there is a known issue with my iOS version (14.5) and stadia.
I can’t manually update safari, and I have the latest version of iOS.
I do know that chrome isn’t supported, but trying to see what works in other places helps narrow down where the problem is.
Anyway, I remember seeing someone mention something about the experimental features in safari, so I figured, “what the heck” and turned them all on. It works now. I’m not sure which feature(s) did the trick. I’m not sure if I want to spend the time toggling them to see what breaks it again.
@Rowen2003 Just want to make sure, are you using Safari as a web app? I.e. are you following the steps explained on this article: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/10204874?hl=en ?
I just tried it on my iPad and I was able to launch a game. Can you try updating your iPad to the newest version? (is there a way to manually update Safari?)
If that still doesn't work, please reply back with your iPad and Safari version
Also playing Stadia using Chrome browser on iPad is not supported.

@Rowen2003 Understood. But yeah if you look at the article I linked above, Support for Stadia on iOS is a feature that's still in development, so unfortunately it's expected to experienced hiccups here and there. Good catch on toggling the experimental features! Hopefully it doesn't break again this time.
@Rowen2003 If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to use the feedback option in the Stadia web app to share your experience with the developers. Give them as much detail as you can about when it stopped working as well as what it took to get things going again. Like @Ivan mentioned, Stadia on iOS is still in beta so I'm sure they'd appreciate your feedback as they continue to improve things.
Done. Submitted the feedback with my experience using their support along with how long I’ve been having the issue, and what I did that finally got it working.
Hopefully all of this helps at least one other person ![]()
