Building a brand, what strategy do you want to see?

It seems without crossplay a large swathe of game content will effectively be unavailable to Stadia users. Hopefully Google are making positive strides in achieving crossplay across all titles otherwise this could be a real pitfall.

However putting those concerns aside I am excited about the opportunity Stadia has in its current state for great single player and couch co-op experiences. If there is a fast drive which is focused on acquiring the right kind of single player and couch co-op games I think Google could buy some time for itself to solve the multiplayer issues. While also carving an interesting brand of being the home for quality gaming experiences.

I'd like to see that the games being brought on board have some curation, that Google are asking the questions "Will this be a good experience on Stadia? Is this a Stadia game?". That approach will help to build a good brand and prevent games that the technology isnt quite ready for appearing in the library.

There also needs to be some move on game price, at least initially. The platform hasnt yet justified that kind of investment per game.

What do you all think? What approach do you want to see going forward?

@WGoodspeed I personally hoping to see some features exclusive to Stadia. For example, GRID has a 40 player endurance mode which is only available on Stadia. Someone else also mentioned it would be great to have a 12 v 12 Crucible matches on Destiny 2. Not sure how feasible that is, but it's definitely an entertaining thought.

So basically Google need to showcase the advantage of running games from the Cloud. I may be oversimplifying here, but you can always scale resources, so you can do things that aren't always possible on PC/Console. The question is, can Google convince developers that it will be worth it in the end (to spend money/time developing on these exclusive features)

Stadia Guides are not employed by Google. Opinions are my own.

@Ivan Yeah absolutely would be great to see features like that. And I'm sure we will see those because as you said it showcases the power of cloud gaming. But, until there is a much larger playerbase I dont think Stadia exclusive multiplayer modes are viable.

It will be interesting to see how big a factor the cloud aspect will be in efforts to get crossplay off the ground. If it turns out there is a significant advantage to one set of players, that could cause friction.

Dream scenario?

competitive pricing with steam/gog

An enormous game selection like STEAM - I feel there is a game coming out every day on there, some straight trash but there is so much gems I've found.

A wishlist showing the most anticipated games like steam

but mainly and I've always said this STADIA needs to follow nintendo build your brand through first party exclusives - Make your Zelda, make your Mario, Metroid...make your HALO , make your God of War or Death stranding...

First party games is what makes SONY/NINTENDO sooo appetizing and you can build your brand around that

also content creation! help small content creators GROW with your brand, not only established creators but smaller guy who can grow with you.

anyways thats all.
