This is the encounter that takes place in the torcher chamber. It is freezing and crashing the game over and over. Very frustrating as this is a difficult encounter. A fix would be most appreciated! Awesome game and otherwise runs liquid smooth on stadia.
I encountered this bug as well today. I tried turning off all of the visual effects and temporarily setting the difficulty to "story mode". That seemed to work and got me past the boss fight. When I turned the effects back on it crashed again very shortly afterwards (walking around at the boss fight location after defeating him) so it seems to be bound to that specific area. Upon further investigation, it seems like I can't replicate the issue when motion blur is turned off. I suggest anyone else having this issue to try and turn off motion blur. If that helps for everyone, we may have a solid workaround.
Hello @Eggnog
This is really an EA issue – take a look at this forum for how to report bugs in Jedi Fallen Order: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/bd-p/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order-bugreport-en
Same issue here.
Not limited to this encounter; I've had it crash in the same way when attempting to meditate.
Though this also occurred on Kashyyyk (at the checkpoint just before entering the shadowlands).
My guess is it's something to do with the whole shadowlands/origin tree section of that level, as I've also seen some texture loading oddities, and also massive (server side) lag spikes when transitioning into these areas.
:Edit:
Just had another crash, this time on Zeffo.
This game really isn't very stable on Stadia; 3 crashes so far.
I don't think it crashed once during my local (Game Pass) playthrough.
I have had no issues on my play through. Currently at the start of chapter 5. Just as another data point (playing on chrome browser, hardwired into a gig up/down connection).
Another Stadia crash, this time fighting Malicos.....
It really does choose the absolute most inconvenient times to crash. ![]()
I wonder if it's particular Stadia instances not being stable.
On some occasions I've played for multiple hours without experiencing a crash, other times (like this) it's crashed within 20 minutes of starting.
FYI This stream is 1080p, VP9, 5.1 audio. (through Chrome, not that it matters)
:edit:
Wow, just had it crash again, almost immediately after restarting. (in the 'fight' vision/memory against Tapal just before the Malicos fight)
:edit:
FFS, it just crashed again in the Malicos fight.
It takes THREE (unskippable) cutscenes to get to this fight.....
The Malicos fight is where it’s crashing for me as well. Repeatedly. It happened at least a couple times over a week ago and I stopped playing Stadia because of it. You have to sit through what feels like 10 or 15 minutes of cutscenes just to get to that fight and have it crash. Tried it again tonight hoping the issue had been resolved - but nope. Another crash during the fight. It’s no longer worth my time.
Not a fix exactly, but if you meditate after the cut scenes you don't have to watch them again, definitely felt that pain several times

Turning off Motion Blur solved this for me. Thanks for the tip. I love this game and didn't want to have to give up on it so close to end.
Turning off Motion Blur isn't helping me. I have had at least 15 crashes now in 2 hours on Shield TV. It's ridiculous.
