Bose 700 Mic support with inline mic cable? Bluetooth? (on Chromecast)

Has anyone had any success getting a mic to work with Bose 700 headphones?  I understand that out of the box, the mic is bluetooth and as far as I know, that will not work for gaming through the controller.  (Playing on Chromecast - not PC)

But I know Amazon and Bose make inline mic cables for older model Bose headphones.  I'm wondering if anyone has tried this with Bose 700s.

I didn't realize the mic was Bluetooth, that explains why I can't get them working. Thanks, I hope someone finds a solve.

I ran into the same issue last night. Hooked up the headphones into my Stadia controller and no mic was detected. Very disappointing considering the unit has a mic built in!

Looks like the best way to add mic support is buying this cable with in-line mic: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bose-QuietComfort-Headphones-Microphone-Samsung/dp/B00XLIFRZQ/
