Two questions:
1.) How are the BG3 patches usually handled? Is this something more dependent on Stadia staff or Larian staff?
2.) Are there any updates on when Stadia user's will get access to patch six? It was just released today.
Lot's of goodies if you haven't been keeping up with development:

Hi @Kurokoi,
The publisher/developers of the game or responsible for the updates. So if a game is not receiving a update or is getting it later on this is up to Larian in this case.
I am afraid I cannot answer your question on when the update is coming, best is to reach out to Larian. ☺️
Appreciate the response. I wish Larian would give us an ETA.
I just read on reddit that Larian was having technical issues with the stadia update, whatever that means
So now we don’t get patches on release day and date? First it was games and now this. Stadia is going from a joke to a tragedy.
I am considering spending 60 dollars to get out of Stadia depending on:
Stadia announces a: "No downloads necessary. No updates. No waiting!" Well.... I am waiting...
Larian just confirmed what @RXShorty said in twitter. The patch getting to Stadia depends on Larian.. not Stadia. Now my decision to leave Stadia depends on how fast Larian updates the stadia version.
You are sincerely right to say what you feel.
Whoever has to act, Stadia is the only one really impacted here, and it's important for them to understand that.
I don't know why but somehow, if a game bug, players (including me) do expect Stadia/Google to do something like pressuring the devs or other, because Google is a leadership, you know. But atm it seems like Stadia can be killed on purpose by the devs whenever they want. That's a sad reality. But hey, it's also true for every others platforms.
And while it might not be Stadia's fault, do we think Google is allocating resources to help Larian figure out the issue? Why would addressing this be a priority for Larian to begin with? They've cut budgets and staff, yadda yadda. It's just disappointing.
Stadia is not the only one impacted. Mac OS is also in the same boat. Given that both are Unix-based system, I sense that Larian messed up somewhere in there.
That's a really silly statement, if you bought an Xbox game made by (input your fav game studio here) and it didn't work as you'd like, would you blame Microsoft? Game Development is hard and made even harder when you have to create for multiple platforms. Have some patience and give Larian studios a break and some respect! Baldurs Gate 3 is nothing short of miraculous, what they are doing has never been done before, the level of detail and content that is going into this along with actual D&D 5e rules...Accurately reproducing the experience of playing Dungeons and Dragons with such fidelity, is going to take many years. We'll still be playing this in 2030!
Amen to that. This is not Stadia's fault what-so-ever. People need to remember that they purchased an "Early Access" game knowing **bleep** well that it is still currently in development. It even makes that clear that you understand this when you purchase it. Now if this delay was on a fully released game then you have an issue. It is delays like this that will make issues like this non-existent when the game is "officially" released.
That is absolutely right but my favorite studio (or one of) is Microsoft studios (or should we name ix xbox game studios). So, yeah, I would blame Microsoft :-).
Patch 6 is a huge update and I'm not not surprised that they are having technical issues. It includes graphical updates like lighting so that may be a reason. Hopefully it'll get sorted out soon.
Don’t release PC version if stadia/Mac are not ready. This leads to a situation with less frustration.
What I don’t understand is why this is on the devs to update stadia. Stadia is essentially software as a service running on a Google server. Why isn’t google purchasing X amount of licenses on Y amount of servers, and just setting the updates to automatically install upon release? If you are using the software it could be set up to show an alert letting you know it will install once you exit the game. This would keep us from constantly being forced to wait days or more for patches/updates. I try to stream BG3 content. I decided to use Stadia to get a jump on the competition since I don’t need to download anything. Now I’m always DAYS behind everyone else.
Exactly! GeForce Now basically just works as a remote pc, and I've never had to wait more than a day for something to be updated on their end, while Stadia, with the backing of Google(!), Is unable to give its users any tools to alter their game experience nor any info to alleviate the concerns we all have.
I'm basically only going to play BG3 on Stadia until it's available on GFN, then I'm outtie, because the Stadia team is really awful with giving updates or encouraging developers to implement bug fixes that already exist on other versions.
I've never seen so much potential willfully squandered...
How does GeForce Now work? Do you get free games like Stadia, or do you have to buy every game? Is it stream only? Can you modify graphics settings?
It synchs with your existing Steam account (and Gog/Epic to much smaller degree). If a game you own is on their service, you can stream it through them. It even launches the games in Steam Big Picture lol. There is licensing involved on their end, as games are added and pulled. They don't supply or even sell games directly. It gives you flexibility, and you can wait for Steam sales.
Neo basically got it, but to add onto it a bit more: It has a lot better servers than Stadia and is basically just like playing any game you own on steam/gog/ubisoft/epic but with a monster rig. Their rigs are so good that playing Cyberpunk 2077 was actually an enjoyable experience.
The only monetary incentive they have is that they offer a subscription service that gives you a faster queue into the game (since there are limited amount of virtual machines available) and extends you play sessions to 6 hours (the default is 1hr). Once a play session ends you can just go straight back into the game, granted, I have rarely played long enough to experience it, but it has never been an issue, since relaunching a game through their app is pretty quick.
The only issue with GFN, is, like Neo said, they rely on licensing, and some game devs do not want to support them, since they can make more money through Stadia or any of the other competitors (like Amazon's), since those require consumers to repurchase games they already own... That being said, Larian has always had their games on GFN, so I'm expecting Baldur's Gate 3 to be on there too, but the early access currently isn't, hence why I'm here ^-^'
The basic service of GFN is free, so I recommend you try it out. You have instant access to any free game, like Apex Legends, Neverwinter, etc., as long as you have an account on the requisite platform.
Any updates? I really want to play patch 6.
Same. I wanted to show off with the no-download/no-wait with my friends on Steam ... But I have to keep low profile now
I think complaining stadians ara not aware that the game is actually incomplete. They are testing it out, issues with things like updates are expected.
Except that this isn’t the first time this has happened, and this is the longest we’ve had to wait. If Google ran their service like NVIDIA does, we’d be playing it already.
I like that my first in the Stadia Community come from saying that Stadia now sucks.
This isn't a Stadia issue this is a problem on Larian's side. Don't take any notice from those saying Stadia sucks ![]()
Have you (Stadia) heard anymore from Larian about the release of patch 6 for Baulders gate 3 ? been waiting for what feels like a year ![]()
thanks
When asked, Larian has stated that the Stadia version of patch 6 has been delayed due to "performance issues".
I find this somewhat troubling as my 8 year old laptop has little issue running the game with patch 6 (just can't do high graphics at 4k which is why I bought the Stadia copy). I very much hope that Google can work more closely with developers on programming for their hardware in the future as it has been somewhat hit or miss (games like cyberpunk 2077 performed better on Stadia than PC at release, while others feel like poorly coded ports)
Ok, so: I didn’t open Stadia in some weeks, now I was going to play the much-waited-for patch 6 for BGIII, I open it and… no patch. I had to search online to discover that about ten days after the release we still don’t have access to the patch and, while I understand fully that’s an issue on Marian’s side, i’m asking: why I should wait ten days while using a service that I adopted mainly for the feature of NOT waiting for updates? Honestly, I don’t care so much who is to blame, but the fact remains that the service I’m using is not doing what I subscribed for… I’d really like to complain formally, at this point, because I feel not supported at all as a customer.
WTF! I just wanna play a sorcerer already! Latina needs to get their **bleep** together, BG3 is the only reason I have Stadia. It's **bleep**ing bull**bleep** I tell you.
