Hello,
I play Assassin's creed Valhalla on TV and Computer screen, both are 4k but the image displayed is different.
On the computer screen the field of view is smaller, it is like there is a zoom applied on the image, we are closer to the main character. It is annoying when I'm playing because during a fight, it is less clear what happens.
It is strange, why this difference? As the screens have the same resolution..... I searched in the option to check if there is a parameter for that, but nothing. I also checked the scale and layout option in windows, the zoom in chrome, everything is normal.
Perhaps I will try to directly connect the chromecast to my pc screen to test this config, but in this case, when I will want to play to other games with the mouse and keyboard it won't be possible
Thanks in advance for your help
Hi @Shaiogul, sorry to hear of your troubles. One thing I would suggest trying is to test on an incognito session of Chrome in order to make sure that there are no conflicting extensions or plug-ins which may be disrupting the service. I do not know for sure, but I think you were on the right track to suspect a local machine setting.
Thanks all for your replies.
After testing with the chromecast on the computer screen I had the same result, so it confirmed it was a local settings problem. I finally found it was the screen itself that wasn't configured correctly .... I didn't touch anything since I received it but in the end in the screen menu there was something called "smartsize" that applied automatic change.... I disabled it and now it is ok.....
Anyway your support was very much appreciated! lets fully enjoy stadia (still for long years.... I hope.....)
Hello @Shaiogul,
Do you use a plugin to force the resolution of Stadia on your PC?
You could try a unofficial plugins like Stadia Enhanced.
Here you can force the resolution and the codec.
Hello @RXShorty
Thank you for your answer. Yes, following your recommendation I tried with the plugin stadia enhanced and I forced the resolution to 2160 (my screen resolution is 3840 x 2160) but it doesn't change anything, I still have the same "zoom effect".
Perhaps stadia detects I'm using chrome and adapts the stream based on this. I will try with the Chromecast directly plug on my computer screen this evening to check if it makes a difference, I will let you know.
