Are people interested in a *only* wired stadia official controller ?

Hello fellows,

Even though the title is pretty self explanatory, I would like to know if people are looking for an official stadia wired controller or are just OK using other controllers?

My pledge here, is that for personal reason, I try to avoid controlers using batteries.

As my old controller commited seppuku, I am looking for a new controller (and somehow new controller have fancy "pro" feature adding buttons, and so on).

Have a nice day.

Hi @Sixin,

On my laptop I only use the Stadia controller wired. But when playing from the couch it is wireless. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Not sure I want a wired Stadia controller only to be honest. :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I like the possibility to have the controller both wireless and wired (by a detaching cable) but consider also that the primary functionality of the controller is to connect to the chromecast and play on TV, since you can use any controller on PC (and so any wired controller) but on the opposite the chromecast doesn't have any kind of port except for Ethernet and power, so a wired controller can't be connected to play with you TV (at this point in time)

Hello @Sixin . Actually right now Im using an xbox series x controller. Bought it for stadia only, and I have no issues, when yesterday the batteries ran out, I just plugged it in with a usb c wire, and everything was fine. But being able to sit on the couh, and play from there is just the best thing ever. So no, I dont think so. People just wont buy it.

Thanks for the feedback fellows. I now know that I am unique :face_with_tears_of_joy: (in the not good business way).

I'll be looking for a wired controller anyway, and workaround way to connect to a chromecast.

Have nice games :slightly_smiling_face:

You are not unique! I can't literally play any games with a wireless mouse XD

@Sixin An interesting suggestion! I would say no to a controller with batteries. Most people throw batteries away and don't recharge them and that produces landfill waste. I like the environmental impact of a charged controller better. Of course this is all personal preference though

Yes that's actually my main concern, as a battery tends to loose capacity over time, besides its component costs (acid and etc versus a copper wire).

Hi,

Well as for me I like Stadia controller,

It has his limitations of usefullness(You cant use it to control Android, for example)

But it has 1 big good thing, feature I thing no other has. Atleast as far as I know. And it is posibility to connect it to charge and at tte same time you can keep playing, which makes Stadia be very comfortable for long time playing.

In other side, if you want you can connect it with wire to the PC and just play, MB Android too, I didnt check (but with wireless it doesnt work on Android-only Stadia app)

By the reply to ur quetion, well thinking that Stadia controller is mostly for Chromecast, and Chromcast doesnt have any wire connection placr for controller, and it would be very long wire 2 meters atleast. it would be anti-google logic I think. To get some solving idea, mb the wire should be from controller to power?
