Are dev to blame for lack lustre performance?

Hello firstly I will start by saying I am enjoying stadia so far, the Division 2 has me hooked. I am playing on chrome cast but I have reduced the stream to balanced, that way I am getting 1080 at 60 rather than 4K at 30, stadia seem to be struggling with bid games in terms of performance.

they are either stripping back graphics or reducing resolution.

now google said that of a game needs more resources devs can use as many blades as they want. So why up till now are we getting subpar gfx compared to Xbox one x ? With an extra 4 tflops and a modern cpu it should be blowing onex away.

so are the devs not putting in resources or time to optimise the games?
Or has stadia got some bottle neck we haven’t heard about?

Dont get me wrong none of the consoles play the division 2 at 60 FPS but the res is cut to 1080p and sometimes as low as 720p to accomplish this?

I think Google made a big mistake at the Stadia reveal when they compared TF to the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

Yes of course Terflops are a sign of just how powerful a console or platform can be but developers still have to be able to fully utilize them in order to get results.

I dont think Google are being dishonest about the tech and capabilities of Stadia, we have it now pretty much confirmed that developers are now working with Gen 2 Stadia dev kits etc. I just think that being Stadia is a new platform, it just talking developers a bit of time to get up to speed with the development process of Stadia and once they do, we will see some excellent results.

You should give it time. You see a sliver of this performance atm at those 40 player grid events which shows stadias horse power. Isn't possible on any other console. Dev's needing to get hot with stadias hardware. Its new overall tech, and they still beeing carefull about stadia, which is understandable though. But still, for early release titles ported to this platform they looking good and will probably looking even better with Gen2 and maybe more additional supporting tools for Devs.

Why are you on Balanced?

The Division 2 runs at 60fps even in 4K.

I am sorry it doesn’t it runs at 30 FPS in 4K only, if the set your stream to balanced and restart the game you will have a much smoother and faster experience.
