My google stadia was stolen a couple of weeks ago, along with my entire collection of physical games, comics, cards, etc. I have turned my stadia on and downloaded a few games, so it should be up and running, but is there any way to track the mac address to my stadia?
Hi @T0iletphish
what's your Stadia? The controller? The CCM?
You should talk to your locale police and check what they need to help you.
Hey @Tobonaut, you seem knowledgeable with this product, do you know if the stadia controller or chromecast has a specific mac address? I know the PS4 has a mac address and athorities can track that, but I'm not sure if this is setup the same way. Any info to elaborate on? I'd really appreciate it.
Everything that can connect to internet should have a mac address, including your chromecast, whether or not you can find out what it is depends on if you connected it or not. I'm unsure if google keeps track of them.
The controller and chromecast was stolen. The police have already arrested a suspect, but there were 3, and this one is playing dumb on where my stuff is. Figure Google can track mac addresses and get an address to where my things are/were located.
No? Nothing? Not a single person with any ideas?
I believe it's not possible to track stolen Stadia devices. Google offers a service to find/lock/erase a stolen Android Phone, but this doesn't work for Stadia in the way you would need it. And you mentioned you've talked with the police already, so I guess you have done everything you could already.
What I would definetely do in your position is to make sure that the thiefs can't access your Google account and make things worse for you. Here are some helpful articles to secure your account in such a situation:
