It would be awesome to get a day and date release of a Stadia app on Steam with the release of the Steam Deck. In concert with the play anywhere approach to Stadia, this would be a huge opportunity. I am sure there will be 3rd party or backdoor hax, but would prefer an official app.
Hello @DancherBoi
I know the NerdNest crew are planning to explore the synergies of Steam Deck and Stadia, and I'm sure they aren't the only ones. Since Stadia is a web app, as long as the Steam Deck browser is chromium-based, Stadia may "just work" – no need for a "native" Stadia app (which would really just be a chromium-based browser anyway). In short, I am hopeful Stadia will work well on Steam Deck either out of the box, or after a little fiddling.

Hello @DancherBoi,
As it has a Chromium browser it seems to be able to run Stadia just as @JohnZoidberg suggested.
There are reports that Xbox cloud is also running fine which I can asume it has to be done with a browser. ![]()
I get some people being like "it'll just work because Chrome" but I'm actually there for a native app. I think it would show proper investment of reaching all places!
I wonder if Steam would require to dig into sales profits for hosting the app. If it did, I would say our hopes would be squashed.
There isn't even a "native" app for Windows. In order for there to be a "native" Steam Deck app, Stadia would have to be added to the Steam store in general and I don't see this happening. That said, there is really not going to be a big difference between a native app and using it in the browser even if one were to be made it would just end up being a shell running Chromium.
Except there'a been a native Stadia app for Android for a long time now, so there's certainly precedent. A native Linux app doesn't have to go in the Steam Store (though that is obviously the best place for it w.r.t. Steam Deck users) - would Valve insist on a 30% cut of in-app Stadia Pro subs if it did (dunno if that's the case with the Android version)?
Yes, you can set up a Web short-cut to the Stadia site inside Steam's big picture mode (would need to run Chrome/Chromium) and it would be nice if SteamOS 3 included the short-cut and Chrome/Chromium pre-installed, but a native Stadia app on the Steam store would be the most user-friendly way to go.
I found a solution, it works for most first person games and some 2D games out without any modding, just quite a lot of steps (instruction included):
