Hey guys,
I'm guessing it must be almost two years since my founders addition arrived, I remember the hype and was (as a lifelong gamer in his 50s) excited to experience the biggest potential revolution in gaming.
First two weeks, issues with codes not arriving and much frustration.
Eventually I got a code, set everything up and was amazed with the app and the way everything worked right up until I tried to play a game. 450Mbs fibre connection but the imput lad and game stuttering made it unplayable.
Cancelled my subscription to Pro and decided to try again in 6 months or so. Stadia was relegated to a draw and the Xbox once again ruled supreme.
9 months in, noticed a stadia payment taken from my account, somehow the cancelled subscription wasn't cancelled and Google refused to contemplate refunding me even through the service had not been used. Fair enough I thought, my fault for not paying as much attention to my bank account as I should.
Yesterday I logged in and played Destiny 2 for several hours, no lag and actually a very good gaming experience with stunning 4k graphics and very few latency issues. Very impressed even considering I had 1 game available for my £90 subscription costs.
Awesome I think, no need to buy a new Xbox.
Right, what games are available....... Controller back in the draw.
What a shame so much dedication went into the tech development and none into the game developer relationships.
Ordered an Xbox and set an alarm for another 12 months to try again (assuming Stadia still exists).
Hi @Scrutts,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry to hear it is far from perfect.
Technically the platform seems to be doing a great job!
Hope the games you are looking out for will come to Stadia.
Right now I am enjoying the games on Stadia and missing not much of the games I want to play.
Because of the Pro subscription I was able to claim such a large amount of games that I have problems choosing which game to play.
For now enjoy your Xbox and please take a peek at Stadia from time to time... ![]()
