Hi everyone,
Previously, resolution settings were controlled through the Stadia App, but applied to all of your devices. With this update, we're introducing the ability to control your resolution directly on each device you use to play. In other words, the Stadia app will no longer control the resolution for all your devices and instead only controls the resolution for that particular device. This change will give you more control over how much data you are using on the different devices.

I have a Google stadia premiere I just purchased using over chromecast. When I click the stadia button it doesn't have an "options" selection. It only has messages, audio, and network. What do I need to do to get that to appear? When I installed everything updated so I'd assume it's all up to date.
I'm having the exact same problem. The options button isn't available on my CC Ultra.
Im on Pro and 4k resolution isnt even offered.
Get the Chrome Extension "Stadia Enhanced", it'll let you use it.
I found out you can install Extension Like Stadia Plus to Force Native resolutions and then allows for you too choose 4k with pro.
But i have not seen any difference in quality or performance . For me it is just blurry on Chrome & Sharp on Edge . IME
However I'm speculating that Google is throttling the Resolutions to keep up with demand
Same here, no "option" icon anymore. Stadia PRO user.
Why doesn't it save my preferred setting though. I have to switch to 720p everytime i log in - that is annoying.
Please fix.
Would love for there to be fully integrated 2k support that shows 2k instead of 4K in the connection tab, for those of us rocking a 2560 by 1440 monitor.
I think by now there’s a ton of us mid budget gamers who don’t have 4K yet but have managed to upgrade to a 2k.
Can you add a feature to enable 4k resolution, even if I use only 1080p display? Since I'm paying for Pro subscription, why cannot I use all its benefits (without using additional extensions like 'Stadia Enhanced')?
Downscaling from 4k to 1080p would have positive effect, both on rendering and compression quality. Even good old PS4 Pro has such feature.
Any news on ultrawide monitors? It's quite an issue in my opinion that they are not fully supported, and using stadia on one is quite nausea inducing at the moment.
I can also change the resolution, but the problem is that with different games the graphics quality even 4K is really low, there are many graphic defects especially in the dark areas of the screen.
You absolutely have to increase the quality of the games otherwise your service makes no sense.
Sorry for the late reply.
I had the same issue and tried Stadia on Shield TV today (sideload) for testing purposes. The AI-Upscaling does a great job and cleans the image massively. Maybe worth a try if you have access to other devices than CCU and Chrome.
Can hardly wait for the officially supported app now ![]()
There should be also option for pro users 4k/2k with stereo sound I don`t need 5.1 a this moment.
Real failure that there is no ultrawide support for both 3440x1440 and 2560x1080 resolutions in 2021. Most of those games even support such resolutions on PC, so I have no understanding for Stadia not support it at all. A lot of people having ultrawide monitors and you are losing them as customers for lack of listening to them even that the bandwidth needed is lower than 4k... I don't get it and lot of other people don't too.
I've followed the OP's directions and set my resolution to 4K, but The Elder Scrolls Online looks like garbage. I think it's 720p. Whatever it is, it's unplayable.
I have a 400mbps line going from my switch to the Chromecast Ultra. I pay for Stadia Pro, and I pay for ESO plus. I have set my resolution to 4K. Please tell me what else I need to do to get 4K.
Have you checked whether on your TV if the HDMI inputs are set to receive the 4K HDR signal?
For example on Sony TVs you need to set the HDMI inputs to "Advanced"
I've checked and have switched every possibly relevant option off and back on again with no luck. But I play PC games, Xbox One games, I stream apps, all on this TV with zero resolution issues. This is a first.
its off a little bit, same for the left. I adjusted resolution, turned everything off still a problem. I bought the stadia premier playing on my TV. Please help me
Is there away to change the color setting from 8,16,32 ? Something like that there
Hi,![]()
I have read many comments but I can't see proper post link. can you share blog or post link with us? I need proper guide about resolution settings and many more.
Thanks ![]()
I know I am late to this, but is there a way as a pro subscriber to force a 1440p or 4k stream to my 1080p TV?
I have this option on the browser version of stadia but would love it for my 40 inch tv,
It would really help with visual fidelity and clarity, and I pay for pro so I was hoping it's possible.
Thank you!
