Hi everyone,
Previously, resolution settings were controlled through the Stadia App, but applied to all of your devices. With this update, we're introducing the ability to control your resolution directly on each device you use to play. In other words, the Stadia app will no longer control the resolution for all your devices and instead only controls the resolution for that particular device. This change will give you more control over how much data you are using on the different devices.

You can learn more about these changes by visiting the Stadia Help Center.
When will the update be available in Germany? I can't gamble right now because I can't change any quality settings anymore. Unfortunately I only have 22 mbits download and have to reduce the quality to make it work. Unfortunately I can't change them right now.
Not sure, daselija, but I only found the layout change here in UK a few minutes ago. The original post was at around 09:00 GMT, so I think my change was delayed by about 10 hours. Hopefully it will follow swiftly in Germany ![]()
It is available in DE. Push stadia button, go to settings and scroll down.
Thanks for the update!
By the way: It's interesting to see that there is a performance option in the iOS App too.
I hope we'll get to run our games there as well in the near future! ![]()
I just tried to use the performance settings on my MacBook. There, I'm stuck at 1080p again. There is no 1440p option and I cannot select 4K output!
Just to clarify, The MacBook has a 1600p resolution and 1440p output used to work on 'Best visual quality' settings before this update.
Please address this or add a dedicated 1440p option on Chrome!
Thanks!
Still no 1440 x 3440 though ![]()
Just cancelled my Pro subscription cos ultra-wide doesn't seem to be coming any time soon. I'll subscribe again as soon as it's available. Until then, Stadia is pointless on my monitor. I wish they would just say 'yeah, we're working on it and expect it to be ready in 2020 or 2021' or ' nah, we're not doing it'
It does seem pointless without ultra wide support.
Google has always been very poor with communication. Gamers like transparency and lots of communication. Unfortunately for google a lack of communication is almost as bad as lying to us.
you should have a setting about 60FPS only , depends game's resolution.
U should add the FPS next to the resolution per game.
Eg. 4K resolution with 30 FPS, or 1080P with 60 FPS.
See attachement for an example (fps in yellow).
This should give the user more flexibility in there choice.
They should also add the latency BEFORE You buy the game - when you see games with a 5 second lag between pressing a button and it actually working you realise how poor stadia actually is. My ping is 20ms but stadia takes so long im in UK.
Hello @steelix,
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish with this suggestion?
If you have issues with the gameplay best is to troubleshoot your situation. Are using WiFi or ethernet cable etc etc.
There are lots of people who can play without any noticeable latency.
My settings keep resetting back to 4K!
I'm trying to set it to 1080p.
Every time I close the browser it resets back to 4K!
This doesn't work. No matter what i do it's stuck on 720p.
I am now stuck with 1080p and sometimes 720p, although I have a Pro subscription and 30-600mbps Internet connection...
having exact same problem stuck on 1080 p despite having very fast fibre and a 4k high def monitor - im on stadia pro
@GraceFromGoogle In the next update can you please add an "option" for full screen on phones? Instead of just seeing the black bars on the side?
Well, I doubt that, I guess your phone has ultrawide resolution .. even people with 21:9 monitors having this problem... I don't get it why they don't solve problems with resolutions altogether..
My performance settings is set to 1080p but when I play a game it looks worst than 720p the graphics are really pixelated and blurry, I never had this problem before what's going on?
Yay! Features we should have been getting day one! #StadiaDOS

Hi everyone!
Stadia newbie here!
Would anyone else favour having 1440p as a resolution option? I currently game on 27” 1440p IPS. Whilst 1080p looks great, it would be nice to have a native 2K res for a sharper picture. 2K looks rather nice at distances of a few metres. It seems that everything is 4K4K4K these days!
Yessss! Fully integrated native 2k support on all devices please!!
Does adjusting your screen resolution have anything to do with why Mobile Games play full screen on my pixel 2xl and stadia games do not. or any Pixel phones??
I don't think anything plays in true fullscreen on mobile. It doesn't bother me so i've never really looked into it myself.
I'm not sure if anyone would be able to assist, but I have a 4K TV and when I go into resolution settings on Stadia, that particular setting is disabled; it says my device doesn't support it. Thanks in advance!
Does this work *per* Chromecast Ultra? I would like to set my downstairs Chromecast Ultra to 1080p, but the one connected to my upstairs TV to 720p (as it's only an old TV with maximum 720p resolution anyway).
Or does changing the setting stick for *all* Chromecasts on your account?
EDIT: I'm home now and have tried this. Yes, it DOES support a different stream quality per Chromecast device on your account, and remembers each one separately!
my 4K high res gaming monitor does support 4K resolutions but its not available to me despite being subscribed to pro.
@GraceFromGoogle Honestly, where is the 1440p option? Why would you get rid of it? Why would you force 1440p Monitors to scale DOWN 4k or even 1440p?
It makes zero sense. If you can do 4k, you can do 1440p. Yet no answer months later. What are y'all even doing with your time?
