I see that google cloud will cancel servers if they can not compete vs amazon or playgiga/facebook....so google stadia has got already a timeframe till cancelation? Im worried because we see already a deadline....and is not good for future clients.....you need 4k and 60fps asap and more power before new xbox x series.....

@Fink : Three years is too short a time for this to be the case for Stadia.   Do you have  a link to your reference for this information?  This sounds more like fiction than a realistic business plan IMHO.

Kudos appreciated if deserved.

first, two different products. GCP != Stadia. Second, it's a lofty goal they've set... ambitious even, to become #1 cloud player. (AWS is #1, Azure is #2, GCP is #3.) Strictly a market play for their cloud provider side of the business. They've already made a decade long commitment to Stadia, and with them producing their own first party games through their own stadia game studios, there is an implied 4-8 year commitment simply in development time. TLDR; This article is an out of context conversation that is really around a goal set to move their marketshare higher. They had a real decision to make, either go further into cloud (and target enterprise customers) or get out of it. That's the discussion point you are seeing from those articles that's stretched and taken out of context. The went left, pushing further into the enterprise space with investment into hybrid tech such as Anthos. anyway, rant complete. :slightly_smiling_face:

Also I said "this" due to quick typing. But i meant "these".... numerous articles floating the web over the last few days related to the same underlying old 'exec level' discussions that may/may not have been noted properly and taken out of context.

@Mad_Dog_Bravo this for example:

@RyudenPhoenix :

Thanks for the extra context.   Yes, different products entirely.   Enterprise space is always a tricky one, there is a lot of big competition there with AWS and Azure.  Google is a long way off in the distance at #3 and it will take some incredible initiatives to get even to #2 let alone #1 by 2023.

Then again as the saying goes... "It is harder to keep a customer than it is to lose them!", so Amazon and Microsoft could just as easily slip too.

Kudos appreciated if deserved.
