Exactly what @Whito @Classic-Rando @Shipman said.
1000x THIS.

WTF is with all these pixel-art rogue-lite/like games — whatever the hell they're called — and why do they make up so much of the catalog on this platform? People aren't paying to stream games they can run on their integrated GPU, FFS. I mean that should be a given, no? Not everything has to be the latest and greatest, but graphics which are from this century or at least newer than the day I was born would be nice.

As beta testers for Project Stream we got Odyssey (which was nice and am thankful for), but can't even play it cause it was gifted via the UbiSoft store and now that we have UbiSoft+, I still can't play it (or any of my legitimate purchases) unless I pay them a 2nd time or subscribe to their service. Luna already had it even tho it's still in beta and while it's a different model, it is cheaper and has a nicer controller (which is cheaper as well), IMO.

UP to 4K, yet advertised as 4K. Controller-only PUBG. Lag or graphical issues almost every single time I play (wired ethernet => 140mbit connection), altho tbf it could be due to Cyberpunk. Speaking of, we STILL don't have patch 1.06 which has been out for over two weeks now (and according to Stadia apologists, QLOC, the Polish dev team who ports the game, the reason for the delay is because they take Christmas very seriously in Poland). Unbearable fanboys (wouldn't be surprised if the ones on the subreddit are shills) that give Sony's PlayStation ones a run for their money.

That's just off the top of my head...

Please fix NBA2k21. In the neighborhood I lag out countless times each day and sometimes the game runs poorly and it freezes. Also any updates on FIFA or Madden? Anyways, Stadia is getting better every single day and with all the new games, playing Stadia is so much fun.

It's a good thing I like indie games. A good amount of people in comments obviously don't. I got stadia for one reason and one reason only. I have 1 TV and a ps4 pro that my son likes to play Fortnight on. Since Covid I've allowed him to play more and pretty much take over the system and TV. Some days. So I got Stadia to be able to play on my Samsung Galaxy S20 and also on my PC. Seems Stadia is more pointed towards India games. So Pro works for me. 35 or so games I've gotten since have it. Not bad for only paying up to 50 or so bucks.

@Airigone

Ok, please don't take this the wrong way, but you're basically confirming what I've said for months, that PRO is aimed/marketed at people who don't have disposable income.

Given the choice, most people would rather play AC Valhalla on a large OLED TV, than indie games on a phone, it's also the nature of the indie games, that leave them playable on a phone, most decent games are next to impossible to play on a 7 inch screen (unless you want to miss half the loot/game).

Can you honestly say if you had a PS5 and another TV, or an RTX 3090 rig, that you wouldn't be spending your time gaming on those instead? I'd find that very hard to believe indeed!

When will stadia release the games people really want. . .  Warzone? COD? BattleField? Metal Gear Solid? etc.

There will be a lot more people interested when these games become available.

@Classic-Rando I don't know bout the "disposable income" part, but agree w/ the rest of your post. For some reason, Stadia is the most expensive (undeservedly so, IMO) of the major cloud gaming providers.

-Luna is $6/month
-GeForce Now is $5/month (or 6 months for $25) for now; ofc you have to own the games (Epic freebies) or play free ones which they do support a number of.
-Shadow is $13/month but provides access to a beefy rig w/ capabilities beyond gaming (as well as a purported lack of restrictions on use..)
-PS Now is $10/month but $60 if paying for a full year making it $5/month.
-Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has an extensive library (including EA Play) but have to pay $15/month for Ultimate in order to stream via xCloud. This also comes w/ Live and Game Pass for the console if you have one. Also, you can purchase 12 months of Xbox Live Gold for under $60 then activate the $1 trial for Ultimate
after, which will convert the rest of your membership at that time to Ultimate. This can be done for up to three years of Gold, making Ultimate < $5/month for three years.

After this post, I'm gonna take a wild guess that Google and its Stadia mods aren't my biggest fans atm and would love for me to give them an excuse to pull out the ban hammer...

@T-Boner

You can even get some of the above mentioned cheaper from websites like CDkeys etc

I paid something like £61 for 12 months of PS plus +PS now, putting both at a total of circa £5.09 a month.

Stadia just needs to step up its game, no 2 ways about it.

@Classic-Rando Yup, that's a good point and a good deal.

I hope they do, altho all the pandering fanboy "sycophants" aren't exactly helping (I felt embarrassed for that poster).

It's just odd it's taking this long considering they started somewhat late(r) than the competition, so one would think Google is obviously smart enough to know they'll have to allocate enough capital and resources in order to compete, both of which they already have. Other than having to negotiate licensing agreements w/ publishers from scratch until original IP from Stadia Games take off (their in-house studios consist of serious talent, including former leads they poached from major AAA titles) which Microsoft, Amazon, et al. all have to do, not sure what else is preventing them from making substantial progress in content.

Hopefully something has been under wraps that can't be announced at this moment in time but in regard to performance, I had to quit streaming Sniper Elite last night since it was unplayable and this was already after having to give up on Outcasters due to being unable to find a single match. Looks like it's not isolated to Cyberpunk (with its half-baked launch) and while I'm not ruling out that it could be something on my end, it doesn't seem to be that much improved since Project Stream, IME.

@T-Boner

You're right about the fanboys, I'm pretty sure they are half the reason Stadia seems so lackadaisical about beefing up its games catalogue to something more respectable.

Hell, back when there was still no text chat function, most comments were just meaningless platitudes, like the ever present "Let's gooo!" that seems to be posted under any news.

When the management see comments like that, and very, very few people voicing the problems with the platform, they probably don't feel very motivated to improve it.

@Classic-Rando Seriously. You clearly get it, but it's annoying that the rest don't, nor do they realize the consequences of their incredibly low expectations, and it makes me feel like a cynical "get off my lawn" old man, just like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino (and IRL). Ah, capitalism (and now sedition), such is life in 'Murica.
Kinda reminds me of Cyberpunk, or at least parts of the first couple of hours I got to play when there wasn't game-breaking bugs, graphic glitches, virtually unplayable lag, and before my saved game got erased after letting someone create a new character thanks to Stadia being unable to handle more than ONE single saved game. Still waiting on 1.06.

I'm new here so dunno how it was like before but yes, I can certainly count on "LETS GOOOO!" and "pika pika" at the top of every Stadia Community thread I've ever read, lol. I'm not sure what's worse: me making fun of kids, or if these kids actually turn out to be adults.
