How exactly do I support online bullying, my dude, you're really reaching for any kind of character assassination here, to the adults in the room, this is as good as admitting that you just can't counter the many, many valid points that I've made about the failures of the stadia team, for some reason, decided to take it personally, and now you need to discredit me.

Just do me one favour, prove Godwins Law wrong, just this once, and don't call me a Nazi because you think that the stigma of the word will scare me, lest people belive you, if you want to come after me, do a competent job!

Whito

And here we go again.

Customers dissatisfied with the GOOGLE service attacked and harassed by their fans.

Meanwhile Google collects his clothes and jumps out the window without you seeing him.

It's really not worth the battle, honestly leave it be, go somewhere else.

Also, I'm not taking any metaphorical road, if you perceived what I've been saying as me "taking the high road", that says far more about where you are coming from, than I!

@Whito

Solid advice, but I don't have anything better to be doing, I'm back in the UK, my missus can't come round because my neighbours call the police (covid rules), so I'm just killing some time talking to the lovely people who personally attack you, then call you out for "supporting online bullying" and don't see the irony in it all.

It's all just for **bleep**s and giggles at this point.

Whito

Well that's a point, if we had a new game we would be playing instead of boring.

I'd be better off arguing in The Guardian or the Washington Post than here.

It is a useless waste of energy to be here, Stadia is not going to change and there is no plan, only some games AV1 Google TV are coming and that's it, see you in 2022.

It's not worth the battle here on reddit on YouTube, wherever, this is no longer a gaming platform.

Classic-Rando

Don't get me started on the Guardian, I'll end up writing a 2000 page essay about the fact that thanks to intersectionality the same groups of people are similtaniously fighting to have all "male" words removed from the English language, like women, fireman etc, and the same groups are now having fits that the term womxn (a word they spent years and untold money fighting to have accepted into normie talk) is disempowering women.

The right side of history changes daily with these people, it's not enough to just be accepted like everyone else, they have to control everything around them, lest you accidentally call a feminine looking girl "miss" and give her PTSD.

Whito
Stadia Player

But you see, you'd be better off debating at The Guardian.

We get older and less tolerant anyway that is a future for those who come.

All those battles do not matter to me, I am happy with the way I lived my life and I do not care about the battles of others, society, genres, religions, blue or red I only care about my own well-being.

I just want to get old, playing games, planting tomatoes and making model ships, but mostly playing games.

@Whito

Dude, tomatoes though, satisfying beyond reason.

I never thought I'd be talking about how much I like growing tomatoes when I was a kid with a stick up my ass about all the worlds wrongs that at the end of the day, never change, just the media spin on what's currently "wrong" :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

Nothing better than planting tomatoes, my grandfather had a piece of land in the mountains and I loved it, later I studied as a forest ranger as a hobby. I will definitely plant tomatoes.

All these battles are the interests of others, especially lobbies that need us confronted.

If you have already earned your retirement, don't waste energy in senseless battles, the future is a future with robots, where children will NEVER plant a tomato.

Just make sure to ask Google for more games and more hardware.

There's a vast difference between blackpilling/being blackpilled, and being a pragmatist.

Biden (Well at the very least, a large section of the DMC) was involved in mass voter fraud, the current sitting POTUS couldn't even get a fair hearing, when there is evidence of electoral fraud everywhere.

Time magazine basically bragged about it https://time.com/5936036/secret-2020-election-campaign/

Understanding, that I can't affect any real change in this situation isn't being blackpilled, is being realistic and pragmatic, the same can be applied to everything I've said. Blackpilled also implies unhappyness, I'm generally very happy, just not with certain things, but if we talked face to face about what you did last week, you'd find me a vastly different person to the comments I make to Google.

Whito

Go ahead.

Present it in your hive.

Genrader

@Classic-Rando

I should write a book about the obvious blackpiller response when they are called out:

"There's a vast difference between blackpilling/being blackpilled, and being a pragmatist."

Can I use your quote? It's so predictable it's at the top of the list.

If you were a pragmatist, you wouldn't be called a blackpiller. I'm not kidding. I have criticism and know where issues lie

It's the lurkers like you that never accept their blackpilling status because you literally have tricked yourself into thinking that what you're doing is helpful.

It isn't. You're not telling anyone anything that isn't obvious. You're not a smart boy that is telling us the problems.

Go fix the problems.

Listen to @Whito. he's a very smart guy, if wrong on this being a "hive".

He knows it's better to actually have something to say.

Classic-Rando

@Genrader

This has turned **bleep**posty, I've already admitted that by comment number 4 or something, I was just doing it for the **bleep**s and giggles.

That aside, the things I say may be obvious to you, you seem to actually be educated, and have some critical thinking skills, but, and this is a big but, what is obvious to you, isn't obvious to everyone, as is evidenced by the pudhback I get when I criticise stadia, if everyone could see what you so obviously see, just like I do, then they wouldn't try to argue with me, they would try and counter my points, with observations of their own, but most of the comments I get from people like @ChaosTheory do not seem to come from a place of logic and observation, they seem to be visceral comments, made to either attack my character, insult me, or otherwise discredit me without actually positing a counter argument.

Now if you want to try and discredit me by labeling me as blackpilled, you're going to have to do much much better than using high school psychology, and the fallacy that anyone saying something negative, and that isn't going to "go fix the problems", is blackpilled, that's weaksauce dude, very weaksauce.

You have piqued my interest slightly though, maybe you can entertain me, while the government is in control of my sex life, and I can't flee back to my US home.

You see and I will confess that I do not vote, but if Trump did, it would be the furthest thing that he would vote, but at the end of the day everything is populism, no matter the side, they only want one side, a hive.

Just be happy planting tomatoes.

Classic-Rando

You keep on making interesting comments, making this difficult to not reply too, you're spot on about hives, the problem is that each hive comes with its own doctrine, narrative, and lense through which it views the world, and they're all at odds with one another.

The concept of individuality has become something of a joke, with so many people wanting to be different, and relatively few politically correct, or acceptable contrarian positions to take, they all end up being different in exactly the same way, I do sometimes wonder if the same was true before social media, but sadly lack a flying Delorian to take me back in time to observe my youth as an outsider to get a neutral perspective.

Rambling again, basically, the more different you try to become, paradoxically, the more you end up conforming with the hives.

I gotta stop responding now or this thread will just be me talking nonsense.

Later.

Stokkebro

People on this forum generally need to grow the **bleep** up...

Whito
Stadia Player
Stadia Player

They are not nonsense, Stadia does not have anything interesting to talk about, so we talk other things.

It has always been the same you don't need a Delorian, you have the History written, at least for now, until the networks take care of changing it and you end up with only the knowledge as in The book of Eli.

After the library of Alexandria is burned. Without survival instinct, humanity is simply bored.

Everyone wants them to accept it, so there will always be collectives and people who take advantage of those hives, it doesn't matter if each one has a doctrine, they are hives after all.

Never in history has humanity been so defenseless and controlled as now so that people need to feel that they are fighting for something, however the violence will never stop.

This is why there are so many Stadia advocates, they just want to be accepted for choosing Stadia.

However, I only see the commercial part that interests me, I am not interested in friends, family, or StadiaTeam, I only want the highest quality service because I invest time and money, I only care about games.

I have tried to be participatory, but because of my history I only participate in forums to complain, I come from being competitive in Lineage 2 (Aden and Goddard Castles for 5 years), Blade & Soul (Platinum) and Black Desert (EU Top Rank 1 Guild) and always I used the forums since 2004 to complain, never to be positive, obviously I left everything in frustration.

I came here looking for peace and not to compete and after acquiring the entire library there is not a game that gives me a reason to enter every day.

So I need more games.

Whito
Stadia Player

@Stokkebro

Maybe the people who use the forum need to grow.

Hey look you have 2 pages of comments.

It seems that someone even bothers to write.

Classic-Rando
Stadia Player
Stadia Player

And this brings us squarely back to the main problem, other things people (myself included) can put up with, but when you burn through all the enjoyable games, you're left with "game x is coming out in 3 months".

I don't want to wait 3 months, I'm bored now.

In contrast, we have PS Now and Plus, the free games you get when you buy a PS5 with plus (the large collection you get, not just the couple released monthly), put stadia to shame on their own, and when I get bored (like today) because I have no current games to play, PS Now has a catalogue of thousands of games, and a lot of them are good to excellent, the only problem I have with PS Now, is deciding on what game I'm going to try next, there's decades, and 4 generations of games on there.

PS, You know what one of the PS plus games was this month, god **bleep** FFVII remake, if stadia was getting games of that calibre for pro regularly, well put it this way, I wouldn't be complaining half as much.

@FantiR

It's a forum, it's for talking, and the theme of "Stadia" did indeed run through most of the comments, even if in a "it's not worth commenting" form.

Also, the announcements are all made in the initial post, the comments thread is, wait for it, for COMMENTS!

If you just want the news, read the announcement, if you want to know what's going on in the minds of people who pay for this to exist, then read the comments, or read both, even neither, it's completely your choice.

Instead of telling me not to comment, maybe tell Google they need to get better at putting out the news in the first place.

Edit

The above comment from @Lumberjack01 is pretty solid proof that at least one person enjoyed the comments, even if it was by just laughing at my growing lack of sanity, do you want to deprive @Lumberjack01 of their enjoyment, just because you found none yourself? Pretty selfish attitude.

Edit number 2

I will continue to sporadically give my feedback to Google through whatever means are at hand, when said feedback comes to mind. Obviously this usually happens when I'm reading something Stadia related.

Google could care less about stadia. Classic-Rando is right. The fanboys are the people who will kill stadia. The only way google will do better is people like us who call out this stuff. You call this games this is a joke. All we get are old games with a mix of cell phone indie games. Cyber punk was a good start but i will say yes all games are welcome on stadia but not if you are missing games low player numbers indie games will not save you. But stadia fanboys are ok with any junk game but fail to see if things keep going this way you can kiss stadia good bye. People will never move over here to play if we are missing all the good games. Also you think luna will be like this nope. Trust me you will see all the big games coming to luna real soon. But lets face it google cant even tell us if a game is coming tell its out what a joke.

Classic-Rando

Isn't it funny, any comment more in depth than ("so exited for "insert game here""), seems to agree with my position, and make valid points, unfortunately Google and stadia don't care, Stadia is probably in damage mitigation mode now, and trying to scrape back ever penny they've wasted through the incompetence of the management team.

Viridian3965

Yep that is what is going on. We all have seen this before the dreamcast did the same thing. If the 100 games are any good why do we have a list of the game google will not show. Its not my job to send a email to a dev time asking for a game. Why do we need to guess what is coming when any other platform shows you what is coming. I been gaming since nes yet me tell you i have never seen such a thing like this. For the love of god we still cant get a date on ark. So we have a ? road map. We have a game coming that has been out since 2019 still zero date. How long can people go well hope this new game is coming.

Classic-Rando
Stadia Player
Stadia Player

Lol, there actually is a date on ark, it's just Stadia can't be bothered to tell anyone, Studio Wildcard just said Genesis 2 will be out on May 26th, and it will be available on Stadia.

Also, you're so right about Luna, it's not even released to the public, but already decided that it would be a good idea to include keyboard and mouse support for fire TV, basically, this is the smart home wars playing out again, and once again, Amazon are going to walk all over Google.

Ffs Google are so bad at marketing, they can't even decide if their smart home system is going to be "Google Home", "Nest" or a combination of the 2, it's brand recognition 101, if people don't know what the stuff is called, they are going to (and as YouTube has proven) get very confused and lose confidence in the products.

This time next year, Luna will be what Stadia should have been.

Viridian3965

Classic-rando

You are 100 % right. At the end of the day if the games do not come other people will get the games on other stuff. WIth all the free to play mmo games how have we not got one. Zero big fps games that keep people playing online. All 56 people in are eso guild have left stadia. All have gone to shadow pc. At this point if google will just run it for a year after that you will see support die at this point google cant even tell us what is coming. If i had faith for the games i had coming i would be showing that off yet out of the what 10 first games we see from the 100 are low end indie games. Why would anyone not get a ps5 or a new xbox at this point. I think outriders will be the last game i get on stadia. After that i will get a ps5 done waiting for big games to come. At this point if all i need to do is download stuff but get all the big games who cares at that point.

Classic-Rando
Stadia Player

Exactly, the "streaming" aspect of Stadia is so overshadowed by all the downsides.

Do what I did, buy a PS5, if you can afford it buy an M.2 ssd for new PS5 games if you're mainly buying digital, and buy a large external HD for old PS4 games, I've got almost 23tb of storage on my PS5 now, admittedly, only a little under 3tb are ssd storage, but that's plenty, and with games downloading while you sleep, unless you're sat at midnight, waiting for release, the game is there when you wake up anyway, and if you do wait up at midnight, so you may have to wait half an hour max to play, it's just not an issue.

@Classic-Rando  I find my comment perfectly fitting, probably fits most of the "This Week on Stadia" commentaries. It's propably obvious to most people on this forum by now that Google or the Stadia team doesn't give two **bleep**s about reading the commentary tracks on these posts, but that's a whole other issue. My problem is not constructive criticism directed at Google or Stadia, nor is it mindless chearing or hate directed at them. My problem is the apparent need for people on this forum to bash each other for having differing opinions. I honestly don't understand why it is a problem that some people enjoy Stadia and some people don't. I find Stadia fitting for my gaming needs and will probably continue to use it until the day it closes down. I recently became a dad so my priorities concerning gaming definately changed a whole bunch since I'm spending most of my free time with my kid. I don't burn through games on a daily basis anymore (probably not even monthly), but I do enjoy playing an hour or two a couple of nights during the week. Therefore Stadia has been a perfect fit for me so far. I completely understand and respect that others might not share that viewpoint and have different needs or expectations about Stadia and gaming. What I don't get is how some people find it necessary to call out other people and riddicule them about their opinion or feelings on a **bleep** game service. I never mentioned you or Whito, and my comment wasn't directed specifically at you. I find the people bashing you for your dissatisfaction with Stadia equally childish in their way of communicating.

I definately find a lot of the Stadia marketing to be riddled with weird choices and mixed signals, so I can definately see why some people feel mislead or deceived by the evil Google. But I don't think that hive mentality is a proper term for people that enjoy a service that fits their need.

As a not retired dad in his late twenties enjoying Stadia as of this moment, I sincerely hope that one day Stadia will fit your need as well. Or that one of the competing services will.

@Stokkebro

You may be surprised to hear that I pretty much agree with everything you just said.

I only respond to comments directed at me, the only thing that I have said recently that might fit into the catagory you're talking about was my comment to @ChaosTheory, in which I believe I said

"do you get my point about Ark yet"

This wasn't an attempt to "own" the guy, it was to see if he understood now that after I said Ark would be good for Stadia, and then months later they announced they would get the game "sometime in 2021", that for me, it's too late, that I'd already put thousands of hours into the game (and that I only put that much time into it because on the PC, you can play with various mods), and that "sometime in 2021", I'd be done with the game, and would no longer personally care, he then just accused me of trolling, asking for things and then saying I didn't want them when given, and here we are months later again (and I have indeed become bored with Ark) and Stadia still haven't given us a release date (Studio Wildcard have, May 26th, obviously stadia don't consider its player base important enough to enlighten us about this however.), so I merely wanted to know if he had gotten my point yet.

Every other "own" type comment I made, was a direct response to someone, and I freely admit that if someone tries to discredit what I say, I will metaphorically steamroll them, and especially yesterday, I freely told the chat, and was using it for entertainment (mostly talking to people who vehemently agree with what I have to say about Stadia).

If you have a problem with me defending myself (be it in a serious or **bleep**posty way), well I guess I'm sorry, but that isn't a behavioral trait I consider to be bad, and therefore will not be changing in the foreseeable future.

You seem sincere, and you've been polite, so I'll respond in kind.

All the best.

Forgot to say, congratulations on becoming a dad, it is something I unfortunately did not have time for in my 20s - 30s, and the woman I intent to marry someday can't have children, and is relatively young compared to myself, so any discussion about my prospects of becoming a father by adoption have been put on hold for a decade.

This probably goes a long way to explaining my man child personality.

Sincerely though, I'd give pretty much everything I have to be in your position right now, so for my sake, make the most of it.

OK. Back to **bleep** mode, later.

@Classic-Rando actually I'm not that surprised. Unlike a lot of people on this forum (apparently) I'm perfectly capable of reading and understanding your (and others) criticism of the Stadia experience and your (with some exceptions) dissapointment with its sloooooow and inconsistent development. I definately find most of your critique very valid, although I might not agree with all of it, but people are different and most commercial products in this world will never fit the needs of everyone.

I completely understand the need to defend oneself against people being ignorantly personal without reason, I feel the exact same need. Therefore I will once again specify that my problem with this forum is not you nor your specific behaviour, but rather the exact same thing you are pointing out here, people attacking people on a personal level for having a different opinion than themselves insteading of discussing these differences in a serious and/ or constructive manner.

Sorting out the mindless cheering and hating, it usually seems like I'm one the lucky few who is completely satisfied with the current state of Stadia. Though I'm satisfied I still wish to see the platform evolve into something greater, so I definately understand the frustration of others feeling like the Stadia team is ignoring their requests and keeping their userbase in the dark.

I think what I'm trying to say is that people should be less hostile towards a difference in opinion. Worst case scenario of listening to a different opinion is wider perception of things.

I apologize if the points I'm trying to make comes of as unclear, an attack or me trying to "parent" anyone. That is definately not the intent. I'm not a native english speaker so maybe a disclaimer of interpretation is suitable in this case haha

No apologies necessary, in fact, it should probably be me apologising to you for my initial interpretation of your first comment, I freely admit that I quite arrogantly assumed that it was directed straight at me.

It doesn't come of as you trying to "parent" the forum, rather, it refreshingl, comes across as a plea for sanity, and to get the main point of comment thread, to be commenting on Stadia, not each other.

PS, unsurprisingly, another second language English speaker, that puts most native English language speakers to shame with your command of it.

Kudos indeed my friend, you've gained a lot of respect from me in a couple of short posts.

@Classic-Rando That is exactly my point! All though I do admit that my first outburst might have hid that point extremely well on second thoughts :face_with_tears_of_joy:

Thanks again for your kind words. Have a great day/evening/night wherever you are residing at the moment

It's currently evening here, thanks to covid I'm stuck in the country, though I do have a lawyer trying to make up a nonsense business reason so I can fly back to the US, he did suggest because of my dual nationality I might be able to get around the lockdown, but being a British citizen means I'm also subject to the "stay at home" regulations.

Seriously though in a decade or so, when people look back at this with hindsight, proponents of lockdown measures (especially ones this severe) are going to end up in court for human rights violations.

Have a great night yourself.
