Streaming is an essential part of gaming culture and enjoying games with your friends, and we’ve made some updates to streaming on Stadia. Let’s take a look at what we’ve been working on behind the scenes:
Stream to your heart’s content with these new livestream improvements
I stream, you stream. We’re making some improvements to make for a better experience with both platform and third-party livestreaming on Stadia! Here’s the gist of it:
- Platform live streaming supports HDR and up to 4K resolution
- We’ve added support for platform and third-party livestreams when you switch games or suspend and resume on desktop and mobile web
- You can stream gameplay from second devices like your TV and the Stadia mobile app once you start the stream on desktop or mobile web
These changes are all live on the platform now. Check them out, and let us know what you think!
Share your gameplay with friends with party stream
We know some of you have been partying already. But for those of you who missed the invite, not to worry – there’s still time to join the fun! Party stream lets you show off gameplay to other players in your party – or tune into multiple other games that your friends are playing!
We worked hard to make streaming to your party really simple. Everything happens on Stadia – no extra software or accounts needed. And we’ve been able to minimize the stream delay, which is great news for virtual Jackbox parties!
Up to 10 people can join a party on Stadia, so you could have nine party members watching one person playing a game, or it could be nine people playing games while one person switches between watching the various games. Invite other Stadia players in your party to watch your gameplay and participate via voice and text!
Have you checked out party stream yet? Give it a go, and send that feedback our way!
