This morning, Larian Studios held their Panel From Hell 2 live stream and revealed a new playable class and other content updates arriving in an expansive update coming soon. Available now in Early Access on the Stadia store, Baldur’s Gate 3 is an expansive RPG set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons, giving players unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices.

Don’t worry if you missed today’s live stream - we chatted with Kieron Kelly, Product Manager at Larian Studios to get all of the details about this new content update for players to explore.

------------------------------------------------------------------

We've been looking forward to the Panel From Hell 2 livestream for a while! Can you tell us what your team at Larian revealed today for Baldur's Gate 3?

We revealed Nature’s Power, which is our latest update for Baldur’s Gate 3 and the biggest patch we’ve ever worked on! In Nature’s Power we reveal the Druid class, the latest addition to your role-playing experience in Baldur’s Gate 3.

But it’s not just about the Druid! The update also includes more polished cinematics, a host of quality of life improvements and additions to UI, a large list of community requested fixes, and much more.

Why is the new Druid class so exciting for players?

Druids are incredibly versatile party members, taking powerful elements from the Cleric and Wizard classes and combining them to be a great caster. They can support their party with healing and controlling magic, or call on nature’s wrath to bring a destructive wildfire to destroy your enemies. What’s more, they have great utility with Wild Shape, an ability where they can transform into different animals like wolves, cats, spiders, or bears.

What are some interesting ways that players might use the Wild Shape ability in-game?

Wild Shape offers a huge amount of utility to the Druid. Changing into dangerous animals like a large wolf or spider can be useful for fighting - but the Druid’s Wild Shape also provides excellent utility outside of combat. Use a bird form to fly to a hard to reach location, adapting yourself for a possible traversal challenge. Change into a cat to remain inconspicuous even while spotted by guards, increasing your ability to succeed while stealthing. Don’t have an ability to speak with animals? No problem - just Wild Shape into your polar bear form and have a conversation with a bear guarding the Druids Grove!

This update is just one of many that has come to Baldur's Gate 3 in Early Access on Stadia. How has the community response been to the game since its initial launch?

The community has been wonderful in these opening months to Baldur’s Gate 3’s Early Access. There’s already a huge amount of time invested into the game by many of our players, and feedback and ideas are consistently streaming in.

In this update alone, there’s a big list of community-requested changes that we’ve made to the game. While there’s plenty of minor bug fixes, there are some important elements that are a direct result of player feedback. For instance, players can now select enemies and friends for their spell effects and attacks using the in-game UI portraits, rather than selecting the character model in-game. This makes spell targeting much easier in more complex battles. Most importantly, we’ve made sure to fix the banana that looks like a citrus. Every detail matters!

This just highlights how important Early Access is to us as developers, keeping a constant dialogue open with our players and improving the game based on a huge amount of player feedback. It’ll make for a Baldur’s Gate 3 we can all be proud of when the game is finished!

We're all looking forward to getting our hands on the new Druid class - when can we expect to play it on Stadia?

It’s been incredibly exciting to share this preview of the Druid class and other new content today, and we’re working hard to bring the Nature’s Power update to the Stadia community. It’s coming soon to players - we’ll share more info on specific timing when available.

Of note, the amount of changes within the Nature’s Power update will invalidate previous saves, similar to previous updates to Baldur’s Gate 3 while in Early Access. As a result, saves prior to the release of the Nature’s Power update will be removed once the new content arrives on Stadia.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available in Early Access on the Stadia store for $59.99 USD or €59.99.

Keep your eyes on Stadia’s Twitter and Facebook for more news on upcoming games and other up-to-the-second announcements.
