Happy Launch Day everybody!
F..k BF were getting tomb raider !
Stop calling Grace out, she's been doing a great job in a hectic holiday season and doesn't make decisions about game prices. Her job is dealing with you angry people all day. You're doing great, Grace!
@StuArtAG You seem not to understand how PR stuff works. It's not the community manager that makes up official news posts, it's the management. The PR people are under tight restrictions on what they are allowed to say and how theyre supposed to say it. Don't blame the community managers for stupid company policies, blame the company behind them.
I'm not mad, just disappointed
Grace is taking decisions from the developer team and trying to make them come out as good as possible, do not blame her for any of this.
Guys... don't stress about a think that is already in the past... let's keep waiting for new updates, new games, new prices... and while we wait, let's enjoy this platform and play with friends.
Ps: remember, sh*t happends, move on 🙂
@Kikonerd Well, I think that is what people are concerned right now. People are worried "Pro discount" google promised might be different from what they expected.
No, let's be very negative about this mess of a platform we paid for because of false advertising promises.
@GordonKim people worry too much and enjoy too less.
Let's keep as a team and try to make this an epic starting community 😉
Have fun you all.
@Dunnkare she’s PR? That’s even worse! She’s doing the worst job a Public Relations person could. How does she have that job!? Saying it’s a misunderstanding and now having very angry people means she’s dog excrement at her job, at the highest levels. DO BETTER! Don’t say your doing something your NOT doing, as if what you sold us something extra! IT’S NOT! She made herself a mouthpiece to say, “we got deals” when those deals were ALWAYS expected. That’s just Incompetency!
@RonWeasley is demanding they treat us with respect and not lie to us isn’t going to “ Ruin the platform“ they have done that themselves since day 1 of Stadia’s Release. I’ll eat crow if they want to fix this with actual deals on cyber Monday otherwise I’m steadfast with not giving them anything more. After that launch, the people who were most on there side have scorn for the way they lie, we were the MOST on your side. There are ways to save that but google chooses not to try.
@GordonKim Stadia Pro is just PlayStation Plus. Founders aren’t confused, be bought the product, we always knew what the Pro deals were. If google really wanted to turn this around, not just for the Black Friday stuff but every part of the botched launch, codes, product lies, they could get massive support if the founders, who were always going to be the biggest cheerleaders, were rewarded with free Pro membership for life. I would always tout google in higher regard if they fixed this, that way.
Really disappointed with the "black black discounts", they haven't changed since launch day. So much for actually being able to buy the games for a reasonable price. Even with the launch "pro" discounts, they are all significantly overpriced.
Clearly, I am not the only one to notice but the "special promos" for Black Friday were non-existent. What happened?
A community member by name of Jupiter asked if the deals were the "3 pro deals" or something else. Grace then said there were "more deals available starting today". There's no time stamp on these comments though that I can see, so I don't know when these statements were made. Based on these two comments it seems more titles were added under the "pro deals" for "black friday"?
Anyway... I mean, what IS "black friday" anymore? The term is so broad and ambiguous now days when companies are kicking off their deals as early as the start of November now and extending till last day of November. "black friday" isn't reserved for Friday anymore, unless a specific date is printed with it 😏😜😅
So, let me see if I understood it right, @GraceFromGoogle
We were told there would be special offers for PRO subscribers, but what we saw at the Stadia app was NOT that special offers BUT some Black Friday offers. Is that right?
If that's the case, what happens with the special prices we were told we would have? That was one of the selling points of the PRO subscription of Stadia.
Where is the free games for december anyways ?
And where is the black friday prices and pro prices ?
I think you are foling us
Where is Tomb Raider and Farm Simulator? It is Dec 1 in every time zone. Come on guys, you already screwed up Black Friday, don’t screw up your first month of adding new Pro subscription games you’ve already told us were to arrive on December 1st. I’ve held off getting Tomb Raider so I don’t have to get a refund, and was planning on playing today.
Please don’t screw this up too...
@Memorom they are showing up in app for me
LOL, I checked before I posted. I see them now. Nice!
Must have come up bang on the hour 😀
Will we have xmas deals. 😘
For me there's no confusion, just disappointment. The "Pro" deals souls not be considered by Google to be equal to any sale... Black Friday, Christmas, Cyber Monday (which also seems to be absent). BUT... if they do consider those to be "sales" then Google or the developers they're working with have to make those sales competitive with Black Friday and other sales that other platforms are having. These "pro" deals don't come anywhere close to the Black Friday deals on other platforms. So I'm ok if they want to call this their black Friday sale. But if that's the case the prices are super disappointing.
And also I think it's ok to @GraceFromGoogle on posts, as long as we're not yelling at her or actually blaming her. But I do think part of her job is to try to answer some of the concerns we post, because she's the face of the community platform or at least this particular forum. She won't be able to answer everything. But hopefully Google doesn't just leave her standing in the cold without answers to anything that gets asked here.
And I’m sorry to be negative again, but it’s really a little ridiculous to have one Community person over the biggest cyber week of the year. Google is a global company and just because Thanksgiving is a big holiday in the US doesn’t mean the responses to the Community should be non-existent for days. This is Black Friday and Cyber Monday we are talking about. Every other platform and game store had massive sales and this brand new platform is completely silent with no sales?
Come on Google Stadia, this was an opportunity for you to make up for some of your mistakes from launch.
I absolutely agree. Someone should have entered the forum and sticky-posted a notice about the deals being considered Black Friday. The comments were clear on the miscommunication.
I don't, however, think we should expect games on Stadia to be at a 60-70% sale after just two weeks on the market. I don't think Xbox or Playstation would release a new console and slash the prices on games because it's a holiday sale. The games are "old" so I get why people expect it. I just think we have to look at it as a new platform and understand that games that were newly released on that platform won't be as cheap as on platforms where they're a year old. Skyrim was five years old when it released on the current generation, and it wasn't cheap. It's at $50 on the switch now in Sweden. I would love cheap sales and great deals, and I expect them to come. But not yet. Google should have been a lot clearer, and the current reaction points towards a less clean (but obviously working) marketing.
There's a point to be made that Stadia would be a lot more popular if they did. You don't have to agree with me.
Currently Borderlands 3 is on sale for Black Friday but since it is not available on the Stadia platform yet we are not able to purchase this game during the sale. Is there any plan on discounting Borderlands 3 when it is launched on Stadia?
@Bakken I agree with you for the most part. I get that Stadia is a new platform so deep discounts are going to be difficult. But the way I see it, Google CHOSE to have their launch at this time of year. They know what sales happen at this time of year. In fact I think that's the reason they chose to do this launch now. If they waited people would be spending all their gaming money in all the other platforms right now and not thinking about Stadia. So they wanted in on the buying, and they knew what they were up against. And knowing that, they should have been positioned to compete with some of the holiday sales, and they weren't/aren't positioned to do that. So that's all on Google in my opinion. And like you said some of these games are old. If I have to choose between paying $60 for Stadia's ultimate edition of assassin's Creed, or $62 for the ultimate edition of mortal combat 11, why would I do that when you can get all kinds of assassin's Creed BUNDLES for less than half the Stadia price in some cases and there were mortal combat 11 ultimate sales for as low as $49 or better?Google chose to launch now and should have been ready to compete with the holiday sales. If you're going to compete, then really compete. Don't just insert yourself into sale season with overpriced options.
No offense, I love Stadia that’s for sure. But next Black Friday you should try and cut all prices in half. Be bolder than ps4 and Xbox combined when it comes to sales. Well at least for the upcoming year. Look at the Steam Sales for example, those give huge Financial boosts every quarter of the year.
@SSBGoku But if everyone is weary the project is killed anyways because there is no one buying games. I hold off at buying ps4 games and going all in on Stadia. A risk I am willing to take. Then again, YouTube has been around for ages and so are other google apps. So don’t be weary, embrace this beautiful piece of hard- and software to its fullest potential.
I really wanted Stadia to succeed, but it seems like Google has already forgotten about it...
@arklesseizure agreed, I want my money back. I feel massively ripped off. Google seems to be run by the incompetent people.
@MeneerGroot absolutely you can see when a project is going to fail. The proof will be after the 3 month trial. I’m willing to bet more then half the people will choose not to opt in, not just for lag type reasons ether. Stadia works great for me but I won’t support a company willing to lie to costumers. Misleading people, which is why I’m specifically posting here. Not addressing the issues when people tell them that Chromcast are overheating, the 4K signal is moving a 1080 picture, the visuals will be maxed and there anything but. Your going to get blowback especially from early adopters and people like me have and are going to tell there friends, family and complete strangers everything wrong with this service, and I’ve done it with a huge smile on my face. It sounds counterintuitive but I want google to succeed but in order to do that they need to course correct, there’s no shame in saying things are coming soon or are in the works, but if it ain’t ready and you tell us it is, your lying, and that’s not okay.
Assassins creed can be bought on psn network for 27 euro (NL) playstation is already coming with Christmas deals .. and we are awaiting for any reply from google
