unauthorized charges

  • I am being billed a rate of $9.99 per month @stadia@for stadia.com. I see that it is a game site of some sort. I DO NOT play games and HAVE NOT authorized these charges. I filed a report last month when the first charge came through, Google did absolutely nothing about it. I was billed AGAIN today for $9.99 and finally found that it was for stadia.com. I have spoken with my daughter,who has her own credit card and Google account and she verified she has made no such purchase. I have a son as well who has a tablet and a google account that I made for him, however he cannot play games nor can he fill out credit card information. He is not even aware what a credit card is for. He IS 18 years of age BUT he has Down Syndrome and an unknown level in autism. He is able to complete tasks at about an 8-10 year old level but has never had financial matters discussed with him or the use of credit. He cannot fill in forms past his name, address and phone number, so he could not have searched out stadia.com and opened an account. I do not know what device was used to sign up for this account. I carry 3 for him to use. Sadly, when he is in church or other social settings he has had other boys "befriend" him so they could take his tablet or cell phone from him to entertain themselves. I do not know if at that time a purchase or subscription was completed as I usually catch the heathen children that take his things and make them give them back. We had a device that was being out right taken from him after he fell asleep by one of his sitters and used for her own entertainment. However, I looked at the device right after I became aware of this issue and saw no charges of any kind. I also checked my credit cards for the next 2 billing cycles and saw no charges. I did however get my own account on youtube cancelled for some unknown infraction that to this day has not been shown to me. Either way, I did REPORT the unauthorized payment last month when the first charge was made, but had no idea it was a membership of any sort. I want to know HOW to get this nonsense stopped because at this time 10 dollars per month is an expenditure I cannot afford. During this virus I cannot work outside the home in fear of exposing him to the contagion. Though he is young and should be at low risk he also has heart and lung issues and is at a much higher risk than the average 18 year old. How can I get this payment stopped AND preferably refunded? If it cannot be done then I will be forced to close my google pay account and likely drop Android devices entirely in favor of more secure Apple payment options.

Best thing you can do is contact Stadia support to see which account is using your payment options for this Stadia Pro subscription.

I've tried going through this "Stadia" and contacted Google as well and have received NO replies and NO refunds even though NO ONE is using this app or site. I WISH they would reply but maybe this is how the rich stay richer- by theft.

I have had exactly the same issue since February 2021 , every month I query the charge and every month I get a response back from Stadia that the charge is valid.  Please help.
