I purchased Play credits specifically for use with Google Stadia. I purchased Google Play credits to buy this game addon for use specifically with Google Stadia. Stadia has refunded the balance to my Google Play account as expected. I am requesting that the refund be transferred to my Google Pay or PayPal account. That is the only way I can purchase the game order that Stadia cancelled due to shutting down the platform. I've contacted numerous times but feel no one understands what I'm asking. I would have never purchased Play credits had I known Stadia would shut down. Google, please do the right thing and return my funds so that I may repurchase this game addon!! Customer support has not at all been supportive. This is not at all okay.

I understand your situation, but unfortunately the Google Play Credit can't be transferred or paid to another payment method. JamesfromGoogle confirmed this also here.
Therefore the Google support couldn't help you with it either, otherwise they would have offered you another solution.
Yeah it's a shame. I'm in the same situation and I also prefer to get my money back on PayPal rather than on Google Play. I bought a 70€ game on Stadia, because I didn't had a PC that could run it at the time. However, now I have a PC that is able to run it, but I don't want to pay twice for the same game. I'm stuck with 70€ Google Play balance and I don't know what to do with it. I mean, at least something! Actually I didn't even expect to get a refund even though it's just Google Play balance. And I'm sure that some people don't bother to get it back on Google Play, but I'm not really a mobile gamer and I don't have a usecase for the Google Play balance. I'll hope that I can get the money transfered to Google Pay or PayPal, but I don't think that's likely to happen in near future.

I understand completely. However, I feel that under these circumstances (the shutdown of Stadia), that all refunds should have been processed in a manner that allowed users to access the funds they invested into the platform. Stadia users would be able to repurchase games and add-ons bought through the stadia platform. If I had purchased Google Play credits to be used in the play store, I would never ask Google to alter the balance. However, I blindly purchased google play funds for use on the Stadia platform. Now that Google has decided to shut down the platform, I am out over $90 and can't afford to repurchase the games and add-ons that I bought through Stadia. Google will transfer the funds from Google Play to Google Pay if the funds belong to a child who is of age 13 or younger, so they do have the option to transfer a balance at their discretion. Like I mentioned earlier, I bought credits for Stadia, Stadia shut down, and the credits were returned. Unfortunately, I can not repurchase my games and add-ons with Google Play funds. These Play credits were purchased with cash (not earned through surveys or tasks) specifically for Stadia use, so as it currently stands the money I used to purchase Stadia games and add-ons is fairly useless. I'd happily transfer that money to random people if that was an option...at least someone would get to enjoy it, lol. If I had lost $5 or $10 I wouldn't be at all bothered, but over $90 is a lot of money for many, including myself. I hope Google understands why I'm upset and at some point decides to correct this issue. Thanks again Chufu! Take care!

Stay persistent and don't give up! It's not okay, and silencing us won't make us forget. Google, this is a mess that you need to take responsibility for!!
