If I purchase games as a Stadia Pro subscriber, will the games I purchase still be available if I cancel my Stadia Pro subscription and use Stadia Basic?
My understanding is that if you spend money, you get to keep what you buy, even if you run out of the Pro sub. Doesn't matter if you bought if through Pro discount.
But if it's "free" in a sense that the game can be only accessible as part of Pro, you'll lose access once the Pro sub runs out. This is how it works with PSN purchases and I assume will be the same case here.
But yeah, official clarification would be great.
Thanks Ivan!
The FAQ doesn't explicitly say anything about "purchased" games but it does say you'll lose access to "claimed" ones through Stadia Pro.
"If you stop your Stadia Pro subscription, you'll lose access to the games that you claimed as part of Stadia Pro. If you later rejoin Stadia Pro, you will regain access to any Pro games you claimed in the past, but you won't be able to retroactively claim any games that had been offered while you were unsubscribed and are no longer available to claim."
I think we can agree it wouldn't make sense for you to lose access to games you've outright purchased
Some official clarification rather than users interpretation will be appreciated...
An Italian user has been told by Stadia's Twitter account that the games bought with a Pro discount can't be played once the Pro subscription ends: https://twitter.com/GoogleStadia/status/1197485246087745537
Therefore it would be nice if Google clarifies this information...
Looks like Stadia has confirmed:
