Now it is 3 weeks that I received the email about the refund but any email to change the way of the refund! And if I look the google account it said refunded.
Did you also check the spam folder, bin, etc. to ensure a possible email from Google about providing an alternate payment method did not go in one of these? It's also possible that it just takes a long time until your refund fails and until the email arrives.
Otherwise if the refund would be successful, then your bank should have it somehow. I'm not sure in your case how it works when the bank sends the money back, but I would assume it's working like a "refund failed" situation, so you would still get an email. But it's possible that it just takes a while until the bank sends the money back?!
In any way, you could give it a bit more time and then check again with the bank if you still didn't got anything. Contacting the Stadia team atm is not recommendable since they're super busy and Google mentioned all refunds will be processed by Jan 18, 2023, so there's still time left.
I called again the bank and they said if the account is closed, the refund was declined and should be go back to the issuer…
so what should I do? I received the email for the refund the 19th of November. I checked my spam folder too but nothing about refund in different way.
In a very similar boat here. It's annoying and frustrating to say the least.
Same here. Google told me that the refund was rejected and I had to select another payment methond. Which I did. But after that it did not happen anything? Does anyone know if and when they will try it again?
Hey @pfaeffchne,
After you have provided an alternate payment method it usually takes another 3-10 days until the payment arrives there, depending what that payment method is. Sometimes it can take up to 30 days. For me it took around 5 days, but still waiting on some of them, so even if you provide the alternate payment method on the same day for some purchases it seems they're maybe not processed all on the same day.
For everyone else who doesn't receive any email about the failed refunds: You can alternatively also monitor pay.google.com and wait there for a notification dot in the top right corner (the email basically only provides a link to that part). If you still don't get anything then it looks like the refund somehow got through successfully, even if the bank states it doesn't? Only other alternative would be to contact the Stadia team, but until Jan 18, 2023, it doesn't seem they can do much about it from what I heard from other people.
The bank said they send back. So there is an error from Google Stadia. I think they close my case with Refund status and they didn’t update the status to the correct one.
Well it's been over a month so looks like I'll just have to wait even longer. Just wonderful.
If you check pay.google.con.. what it say to you? Refunded?
Same experience here so currently not received any refunds at all. My original card on my account was no longer valid so I updated it a week or so back and now waiting to see if the refunds get processed again...
