I got the initial Stadia refund email and went to the site to check on it. It asked me to update the payment method but then all indications of any refund disappeared.
I look at my activity history and see my initial Stadia hardware transaction shows "Refund declined".
Is this correct or do I still need to wait for any refund? I do not see any refund processed on my end.
I still have the original payment method debit card on my account.

I had something like this, I got the email and used the link, it took me to a page where I had to select the same account that I used to pay, with different expiration date.
it had these two boxes I had to tick, I queried that first as it looked like it was going to be some google play refund, I don’t really know what that is, hope it’s not some kind of credit from google. Just wanted a refund to the same account I paid from.
Usually it goes like this: First your receive an email confirming the refund. Then if the refund fails, you would get another email with a link to a notification on pay.google.com and to tell you to update your payment method. Once you have done that, then all you would need to do is wait until the refund appears on your alternate payment method.
I would not pay too much detail to the status of the transaction on pay.google.com, because "refund declined" can also mean that just the refund to the original payment method failed.
