Hi guys. I am new to Stadia since a few months back, and i can honestly say that i love it, but there is something i can’t figure quite figure out and that is about the payments through Paypal when you use IOS.
I found a solution here in the community, and that was that you can set up Paypal as a payment option of you just get the Google Pay app and Add it there, and it worked. I have used it to buy games, but the problem is that each time i want to buy something i have to get my old Samsung S6 Edge (that is barely functional due to a really bad battery) and make the transaction there.
Is it supposed to be like this, or is it possible for me to buy a subscribtion or buy games on my Iphone?
My Samsung is going to ”die” soon and i don’t know what i am going to do then.
thanks in Advance. /Ron Likström
Hello @RonaldLikström,
There is a workaround for it.
While not very friendly it should do the trick:
1. Install a Chrome extension called ARC Welder to emulate Android on a Chrome instance (see https://www.gadgetsnow.com/how-to/how-to-run-android-apps-on-google-chrome/articleshow/65532288.cms)
2. Go to the Play Store and get the Stadia app
3. Log in to Stadia through this emulated Android experience
4. Set up Paypal as your payment method
5. Purchase game/Stadia Pro
6. Exit the emulated instance and use the Chrome version of Stadia
Note: this is a not supported solution, but hey... If it works right? ![]()
On Android, the payment is handles through Google Play, which has support for PayPal as it's a storefront, so uses many different payment providers.
Google Play isn't available on other devices, they use Google's payment system called Google Pay. Google Pay is itself a payment provider and as such doesn't support other payment providers, so outside of Android, it's not possible to pay via PayPal at the moment.
