Partial Refund Maxed Out My Google Play Wallet

I bought a lot of games on Stadia, and a few weeks ago I got an email listing which of my games had been refunded and which it said needed attention. I bought all my games with Google Play credit, so that's where the games are being refunded to. I'm fine with having my Youtube TV subscription paid for in advance for the next couple years or so, so that's not a problem for me. The problem is that I still have a bunch of games that couldn't be refunded because the Google Play balance has a $2000 limit.

The email mentioned going to pay.google.com and clicking the bell for any that needed attention, but when I do that, there's nothing there. If I look through my history, those purchases on the "needs attention" list show as refunded, but the math doesn't add up, so there's no way that's possible.

I got a problem with the hardware bundle email this week and had a link to correct it and pick a new method within the day, but going on 3 weeks now, I've received no update on fixing the refunds for the rest of the games. I'm wondering if there's something else I need to do to get this fixed or if I just need to be patient. I don't mind much either way, so long as I get my money back in the end. I just don't want to wait and then be told it's too late.

Google is still working on providing all refunds by Jan 18, 2023 and usually when a refund fails you will receive an email guiding you to pay.google.com to provide an alternate payment method.

When in your case the Google Play Balance limit is reached, then I could imagine that some refunds fail, because you can't get over that limit currently.

I believe the best course of action here in your case would be to get in touch maybe with the Google Play team and check if there's any chance to go over the limit for the Stadia refunds somehow or you double check with the Stadia team if they can provide you the refund in another way if you can't get it back as Google Play Balance because of the limit.

I tried Google Play support first and they eventually decided that they couldn't help me and decided to refer me to the Stadia team, who is supposed to contact me. We'll see how it goes.

I've finally heard back from the Stadia team, sort of, since all they did was send me a link to the support site, which has absolutely nothing to address this situation, and act like the case was resolved.
