As above, I entered a (valid) code for a three month free trial for Stadia Pro. The message instructed me to sign up in the usual way and that I wouldn't be billed until the trail period expired. However, the first month's charge appeared immediately.
I've raised two support cases with Google but both have been closed and they claim to be the wrong department.
Unless someone can refer me to the correct help source I'll have to request a chargeback from the credit card.

It looks like you didn't use the link suggested by AndroiFy, that is the dedicated stadia support, while from the reply it seems that you used the Google Pay support instead!
From https://support.google.com/stadia/gethelp you can get directly connected by chat to the support, they may have more insight on your account, this is the community forum we can help you if it is something that you can fix on your own, but for the billing speaking with the actual support is the best option
I did, the chat response came from the Google Pay team.
My payment has now been refunded separately however.

@neoconair just curious, where did you get the 3 months promotion from? From my understanding, most recent promo is usually 1 month, but I do understand some places still offer 3 months, but just want to make sure.
Also, are you a new user? If not, then most likely the promo wasn't applied since most promos only works on new account. That's probably why you got charged immediately.
It’s from a Lenovo laptop, and it works for new and existing accounts.
The Lenovo laptop promo is for new and existing users that never had any similar promo in their account, so if you already redeemed some extra months (like the founder promo or other similar) are not eligible, I know it for sure because I have a Lenovo code that I could not redeem too! ![]()
