Hello,
When Google Stadia came out, I was thrilled to support it and let a few family members try it out using my payment method. I authorized this charge, no issues.
Since then, some have backed out but I still have a recurring charge for Google Stadia that I am not sure which family/friend is still using it.
It is standard practice with gaming/online services to allow card holders to withdraw authorization on accounts associated with those cards. I know the onus is on me to keep track of who and where my payment has been authorized, but am I correct in understanding that Google won't let cardholders cancel recurring payments without direct account access? Surely I am not the only person for this to happen to, I know working at other gaming companies this would be a standard 2 minute phone call.
I am being told to file a fraud claim with my bank and say that fraudulent charges are being made. Is this really the course Google wants customers to take? Am I just being boneheaded here?
Hello @turik,
As far as I know the users have to cancel their Pro subscription with the used account.
For now I can think up to two options:
Find out who is using your Family payment with his/her Pro subscription.
Time to contact your family member to cancel his/her subscription. ![]()
Remove all family members from your Google Family
Please note if you remove a member from your Family they can rejoin fairly easy but won't be able to join another family for over year.
Remove family payment from your Google Family
Maybe you can use some of the tips above to solve your issue. ![]()
