I have been a founder since I pre-ordered the day of it being announced.
I support this platform.
Trying to get support back from Stadia is agonizingly frustrating.
Here is the pre-amble..
I preordered CP 2077 even before the announcement of the premier bundle being included
I received the email notifying me that I had qualified to get a promotional code for a free premier edition.
I followed the link in the email itself, was taken to the google store, selected the free shipping option. The total price at checkout was $0.00 (139.99 CAD plus 7% GST + free shipping - promo code)
A few days later I was informed by my credit card company that a large, unexpected transaction was made, I logged in there to check and sure enough, 146.99 was charged by google.
I went into my subscriptions and payments section under google accounts, and there it was, Stadia Premier Edition, $146.99
Hopped on with support and got an endless runaround - they said the promo code was unused and still valid, and I could refuse the shipment and reorder it once google had received the item and processed a refund for it.
The package arrived when I was not home, there was no chance to refuse it.
So on with support again - They told me I had to ship it back, I said no, I will keep it, just apply my promo code against my order and when that's processed issue me the refund.
They said no, they can't do this.. imagine arguing with a trillion-dollar company over 147 dollars.
They insist it cannot be done. That I must ship it back even though they know my promo code and I have verified the serial number on the box.
This is absurd.
Take the promo code, apply it to the order, issue a refund and I'll keep this.. why pay for shipping both ways, that's boneheaded. And I'm sure if I reordered this the same thing will happen anyway.
ugh.. /rant.
Well I understand your frustations...
It feels a bit, well, to much to send something back and get it shipped again.
Guess that is the downside of a larger company like Google with standard processes. ![]()
