I've been living in NYC for the last 10 years and the Credit Card I am using for stadia payments are from here in the States. Why am I getting charged a Puerto Rico sales tax of 11.5% for my monthly subscription?
Check your addresses/payment methods and if it all looks correct then since this is an accounts/billing thing I think it's best that you go directly to support as they'll have access to your account to give you an accurate explanation.
@JAGR Google actually collect taxes for Play Store Purchases in New York, and since Stadia is considered Play Store purchases, and your billing address is based in New York state, it's also subjected to tax
Edit: actually I'm not sure now. Do you usually gets charged for sales tax for digital goods in NY? I see CA is listed in the article but I never got charged tax for digital purchase
Im not understanding. I get that it collects taxes from NY but my billing literally sais its adding a Puerto Rico sales tax to my purchase. I do not live in Puerto Rico
