Hey guys,
I just redeemed my premier edition voucher for Cyberpunk.
When I wanted to order, I was asked to verify my banking account by logging in there and sending €0.00 to Google.
This method cannot be found in the FAQ on the google website, so my question is: Is this a common and legit method?
Hello @Borussia, always be sure that the email is not spam as it might be a phishing email. Secondly, ensure to verify the URL link inside the email by hover your mouse on top of the link without clicking it to view the URL destination. Ensure that the link is taking you to a Google page and is secure by seeing the HTTPS at the start of the URL.
Regarding bank transactional confirmations, some companies do in fact charge your bank account temporary a minor amount of somewhere between $0.00 - $2.00. Not in the financial world myself, but my understanding is that this is how they confirm your bank is real and in working order. The company will either cancel or refund this small transactional confirmation charge. Depending on your bank, this might take some business days to clear out.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply.
Everything seems legit and the verification worked out well.
I am still a bit irritated that I cannot find this method mentioned in the Google FAQ.
Hoped that someone would confirm this method by chance ![]()
Found something @Borussia that might help. Not for Stadia, but is for Google's cloud. Since Google built Stadia, I am sure they perform similar billing procedures. Hope this helps confirm their payment method verification. Verify your bank account.
Thank you once again.
This makes it even more irritating as it says:
I do not have a US-account. Maybe they released the feature for Europe recently?
