Stadia buyer from a long-time Playstation user

Jump to Best Response

Hello. I'm interested in diving into the world of Google Stadia having been using the Chrome browser, Google Chromecast and being an Android user for a long time now.

I have some important questions I need to ask:

1. If my wife wants to use the Chromecast Ultra on its own to stream Netflix can I play my Stadia games on my HP Windows 10 laptop at the same time?

2. Having a 50-60MB fibre broadband would that be enough to stream 4K games @ 60fps?

3. Does Stadia have plans to update to support Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR+, eARC & ARC via HDMI in the future?

4. Where or how can i suggest games to be added to Stadia?

5. Is there an option to download DLC's for a game once it is released by the developer/publisher?

I would appreciate any and all advice.

Cheers.

Hello,

1. Yes if your wife is using the chromecast you can play Stadia on your Laptop through the chrome browser.

2. Yes your Internet speeds should be fast enough to support 4k. Please be aware that some ports are not 60fps.

3. Stadia is constantly upgrading and there have been reports of a Gen 2 in the works. Some developers have apparently been given tech to work with. No news on what Gen 2 may look like. Good thing is you won't have to buy anything new.

4. You can put suggestions to stadia support or like alot of people do, put into this forum and tag google stadia.

5. DLC can only be purchased once available on Stadia Store.

Hope this helps.

Hey Thank you for the answers.

I still have many questions for the platform in general. Even if they sorta announced "400+" games in development or near lunch sadly it may still not be able to compete with Sony's Playstation Now or Microsoft's Game Pass/X-cloud services for at least another 12 months.

In terms of the game library, yes Stadia might not be able to match the number of games those other services might be offering just yet but when you look at from a technological standpoint I'd say Stadia still comes out to be a better choice if the user wants the best looking and best performing cloud streaming service with the lowest input latency and fastest load speeds. You're right though, games do matter a great deal and we need as many as we can get at this point.
