Hi, i just signed up today and am stil discovering this nice new gaming platform. I am curious if there is an easy way to find out if any of my friends and acquaintances might also be on Stadia ?
I have seen the mail invitation option, but i don't want to send that link to all my contacts. It also seems like that the possibility to search for members via their Mailadres is already a partially implemented through the privacy setting whether or not other members can search for your Username via your mailadres.
Probably most people use their actual Google account to sign up. I think that if you have the option to give Stadia permission to scan your Gmail / Google contacts for other Stadia members, that would be a very welcome functionality to the platform. And pretty easy to implement i think. Off course only the members who have agreed on the same privacy setting will be presented.
When it is made easy to find a couple of friends and acquaintances my guess is that the first sessions wil be more inviting and enjoyable. And if the first impressions are good (aka Fun first sessions) it might convince more new members to stay a while
.
For now i will post a message on facebook about my first fun hours on Stadia and ask if anybody else has signed up too.
Greetings,
Ender Kulan
@Digital01Blood I've got a related issue: I've got a lot of usernames in my friends list but I've long since forgotten which pseudonym is used by which of my real-life friends. I desperately need some sort of decoder ring to match up gamer handles to people I actually know - though of course while still preserving the anonymity of those who want it.
In any case, no, I'm afraid there currently isn't a way to find friends by real name or other contact details. I'd encourage you to use the in-app feedback option to share your thoughts with the developers on this.
