[Performance] Destiny 2 1080p and RDR 1440P/30fps

Why is Destiny 2 running at 1080p medium settings and RDR2 is running at 1440p with only 30fps. This is worse than the visual fidelity on current-gen consoles.

The appeal and value of a pro membership is the performance boost advertised. If there is no performance increase with pro, the value of pro is greatly diminished.

why are you advertising 4k/60fps if you can't deliver the promise . I payed PRO for 4k if I want 1080p I can use NVIDIA GeForce now its the same thing and you can buy a cheap beta key for 5£ from ebay after that its free to use the service. I'm really disappointed that you hype me so much and now you are reaping the joy from me, this has been a disaster launch from shipments to the poor stream quality. 😒

@Baelthos just a thought what if they are still in the process of load balancing network traffic?

Hence why they cant push out max settings due to adjusting to the new Founders that are signed up and actively playing online?? i give this issue a few days maybe 2-3wks max for them to correct the graphics fidelity issues.

@Flygod

Thats a good thought and I hope its the case here. Time will tell. The communication on the issue is unacceptable given the advertising. Furthermore, why not provide the highest fidelity during the review timeframe? You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Totally agree. I expected a lot more from Google than this. Destiny 2 on 1080p Medium, come on, this can’t be real. If that’s really the case no one would buy Pro, because it has no added value for resolution. If games run at such resolutions why have it run 4K at home? Safe on bandwidth and stream the game in the native resolution; so for Destiny 2 in 1080p.

They really need to address these questions -- the answers are what all hardcore gamers want to know.

Read this as well. What a let down and while the stream maybe technically 4K/HDR, your better off with current gen. consols.

Stadia is really starting to become vapoware - Think i'm putting my money on Nvidia for cloud gaming.

I Play RDR2 on Chrom-Browser and this is never 1080p.... it looks like 480p.

Chrome browser is 1080p/60 for now, tho.

I'm also hoping google get's that fixed. Playing RDR in 4k/60 (and at some later point Cyberpunk) is the cause I'm interested in Stadia. Otherwise I can get that games cheaper for my PC and play it there. Really hoping there will be an official voice from Stadia responding on that issues soon and tell us if they're working on that or if they have problems that cannot be solved soon.

Still no response anywhere that I can find, but I'm sure they're busy dealing with the other issues that have come up.

@GraceFromGoogle Can we get a better explanation of what kind of quality to expect from the platform?

I agree. Same with Destiny 2.

Thankfully with Stadia it will be much easier and quicker for the developers to update things.

The whole reason I bought the Stadia was because it's supposed to be twice as powerful as my PS4 pro.

In practice it's a downgrade. Framerate is better, but visuals are worse.

ACO is locked at 30, too.

@Bog That's disappointing. I've also seen reports of Odyssey being 1080p native and up-sampling. @GraceFromGoogle

Is it possible that the destiny graphics already improved? The day before yesterday i watched the first impression videos on youtube and destiny looked really poor. Poor textures, shadows, less objects. I played with the idea to cancel my stadia order a day before delivery. I'm glad i didn't. Destiny here at home looks a lot better then in the videos. Sharp textures, good shadows, nice colours, perfect lighting. Input lag is nearly not existing. So far i can only play on chrome browser PC on a 65 sony tv and my huawai notebook. Both in 1080p /60hz. I'm positive surprised. Even wireless on my notebook nearly no input lag (even when my wife is wachting a netflix show or listening to spotify (Never expected that). In 2 day i'll hopefully get the chromecast ultra and can try 4k HDR 5.1. My experience is that there is no comparison to what i saw on youtube 2 days ago.... it looked horrible...so maybe google did already something?!?!.....i wish google would communicate more transparent. I cant understand the bad reviews at all. Even the prices in the german shop are normal to good. New games cost in every shop 59 to 69 €. There are already a lot of cheap games in stadia store! Metro 29 €, Tomb Raider 10€, FFXV 29 Edit: The delivery of chromecast Ultra and gamepad is sheduled for today

@razzzar Thanks for the feedback, I really hope the situation is improving. I look forward to trying FFXV on Stadia. I hope the visual quality eventually lives up to the 'pro' moniker.

Video from Digital Foundry confirm Tomb Raider is the only 4k game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uwunZ2a4gc Sounds like Visual Quality across the board is NOT on par with current gen consoles. If stadia doesn't improve, its going to be killed by next gen.

This is a beta testing from what I can see, and about the games running 1080p stadia new from the beginning every game can do this or that they are 2 possible routes here

1 -- they lied about that blade power of 10.7 teraflops etc.

2 -- the blade is running multiple rendering games so you are not alone on that blade maybe 2-5 users? Its the only logical way I can see this there is no other point how a i9 (STADIA) can't to what an i7 (Xbox one x) can.

I think the issue is not that they've lied about the power of the server but rather the games are not running natively on the server, and are in fact simple ports running in emulation. This is why Stadia are trying to set up studios in the future so that games can be designed to natively run on the hardware.

they sad that stadia is going to be integrated in unreal engine, frostbite and author engines for games but if its a rushet port why are they advertising 4k/60fps and now its not up to 4k look at this trailer https://youtu.be/lmoJ3xB4SNo?t=82 keep your ears sharp after the sentence (last night) he is saying that he was playing tomb raider in 4k/60fps he lied yes you have 2 option 4k/30 or 1080/60. This is what digital foundry measures. its not a story. I understand its a soft launch but if you lie over and over you kill all of the customers interested in trying the platform any way this is what I think sorry if I upset somebody.

It’s really terrible. Reminds me of how Destiny 1 looked on Xbox 360.

Hi Google can you please reply on this, as you are aware we ALL have 15 days from delivery to return our Stadia for a full refund, so if you aren't going to be honest or forthcoming then we will have to return our Stadia's because of the small returns window. I'm yet to see any evidence anywhere of any PC game running at 4k 60FPS at Max settings which is what we were lead to believe would be the case.

Totally agree. Misleading advertising, not worth being a pro subscriber for mediocre quality.

ask bungie, not stadia tbh.

I do think their marketing is very slick in the way it makes people think they are getting 4k, but it's 4k medium settings, not 4k/ultra/high

I think the first true 4k/Ultra high settings/60 FPS is going to be their first party game with all their technology and knowledge inserted into whatever it might be...This game will prove to all the developers what can be done with the unlimited power of STADIA, whatever that first party game is, is going to be the LEGACY of Stadia

I feel it should be an RPG a single player heavy game so they can go all out and not worry about multiplayer
