So I got Stadia account and I love it so much I bought the controller and I assume my Nintendo Wii_U may finally be put to rest, But wait!! There's this WiFi I keep seeing everyone talk about , I don't have WIFi I do have a Moto G-Stylus and my Girlfriend has an LG Stylo 6 with hotspot, Do you think I can Link my controller using her Stylo6 hotspot as a WiFi substitute
@CycoDawg Which controller are you using btw? Also I'm assuming you will be using the data from your own phone right? Not data from your girlfriend's phone?
I feel like in this case the easiest way would be just to use a cable to connect your controller to your phone.
@CycoDawg I just had a revelation, and I'm sorry it took me so long to get to this. So if your girlfriend's phone is acting as a hot spot, your phone will be connecting to her hot spot network, and the Stadia controller will also be connecting to her hot spot network. Technically it should work. You will be using your girlfriend's phone data though:

Note: If you use your mobile data plan to play Stadia on your mobile device, you won't be able to play wirelessly with your Stadia Controller. To play wirelessly, connect your mobile device and Stadia Controller to the same Wi-Fi network.
Can you give it a shot and report back the result? I'm actually curious myself.
@CycoDawg That's quite an interesting setup you have there. I feel your case should be possible, but a few things I want to confirm before answering:
Let's start from there and once we have more info we can give better advice. Or maybe someone else with more experience with dealing this kind of setup can give you a straight answer.
Oh Sorry I meant to include all that information at the begining , I guess I got a little carried away but Uhmm yeah, I'll be using the phone data network untill ii runs out and they kick me off the 5G and my limited unlimited wireless plan through My phones Network carrier ( It's T- Mobile, just in case it makes a difference

Yep my phone data and she don't use hers all that much and I did get the 2extra Giga package for us but I have the Clearly White Stadia controller with cell phone mount clip came in 2 days ago and the anticipation to play with it is like.....Almost Killing me LoL....so plug my phone into the controller or Controller to Phone however ....I need a Double C-type cable for that yes or is it old android and new C style charging cord
@CycoDawg Yeah so if my understanding is correct, the WiFi option everyone's talking about is to allow non-Stadia controller to be used when using Stadia on TV (through Chromecast or Chromecast for Google TV). If you want to use your own data (and don't have WiFi), you need to get a USB C to C (is it not included in the package? I forgot) with Stadia controller. If you have other supported controllers, you can use bluetooth to connect wirelessly.
But if you're playing on your girlfriend's phone, and her phone is able to set up a hot spot, then you might actually be able to, since the Stadia controller will be connected to your girlfriend's hotspot WiFi, which is on the same network that you're using Stadia with.
I can try to test it, but I left my Stadia controller in the office. Feel free to try it yourself, and I'll also try to ask around if anyone else knows.
Yes I got it to the update stage this way but it failed to install I think it took to long and timed out but then I spliced together two cords to make a C to C connector both cords were good and I did some work with my dad installing telephone & data lines ( CAT5, wiring ) and then VOiP ( more CAT5 wiring ) plus tested it out on an old phone making sure it worked however I haven't plugged it into anything I don't wanna burn up my controller or phone just in case I didn't get it right

Certainly the wired controller to the phone will work as is (with the correct cable, from my recollection all the standard Stadia controller packages come with USB-A to C wires), but this wireless setup seems like it work as well. Assuming another device is on the same "Wi-Fi" network that is using a phone hotspot for data, I would imagine that would work as "into the Matrix" this setup seems to be.
9k so finally I can give y'all an update....after trying the advice if everyone And I want to thank you all I got to the final stage on 2 separate times using two different ideas only to "Update Failed to Install" which I am thinking is my cellular service isn't the strongest sometimes. I live at the base of some mountains and no cell tower that's close enough to give me strong reception I am guessing but soon as I get it to work I'll update
I haven't made it there yet as I been swamped at work this week I have fine 2 jibs back to back starting at night and starting the next morning within 1 hour and a half of each, my goal is to get to Best Buy or a cell phone accessory place and get a factory made C to C cord and try go that route my Girlfriend isn't to find of my using her hotspot Gigas up and like it's only 7gigas a month not much play time there , I am surprised at the help I have gotta and want to say I appreciate it very much... Ivan Thank You fir responding so fast and for the ideas and advice you have given me, It really helped
Good luck @CycoDawg please do keep us updated with your testing!
