LG soundbar and chromecast ultra

I finally found what cause Stadia via CCU to lag!!  There's some kind of interference with CCU and my LG soundbar, which has a wireless subwoofer. I turn off the soundbar and no lag, no latency!!

What can I do?  How comes the soundbar interfere with CCU?

It's not interference so much as your sound bar just adding latency with it's probably very cheap HDMI switch.

I suggest you plug the Chromecast into your TV directly band get the sound to your sound bar via ARC (audio return channel).  Usually TVs only have one ARC port so make sure you identify which one that is and plug the sound bar into that one.  You may have to switch to ARC in the TV settings as well.

It can't be an HDMI issue. My audio comes from my TV to the soundbar via an optical cable. Anyway, I just bought (thanks to Black Friday) a d-link powerline and now it works just fine. But I'm still curious what the problem is.

I too have an LG soundbar with wireless sub. are you saying that you have the CCU plugged into your TV, and the SB using optical from TV? and once you just simply turned off the SB, the input lag stopped?

I find this strange since the CCU is plugged directly into the TV, but i suppose that the TV could be delaying the picture to sync to the sound, which when watching TV, wouldnt be an issue, but with games it could be. Ill try to turn off my soundbar as well tonight to see how it works in comparison.

Yes you got it right. CCU in TV and audio from tv with an optical cable. Stadia runs perfectly, but every about 10 seconds the game lags a lot. But with the soundbar off, everything is perfect

i tried this out, and it seems to be correct on mine also. when i started up with the soundbar off, the input lag went away... also, i turned on the soundbar in the middle of play, and it didnt start lagging, but the audio was delayed by noticeable milliseconds. so i think my hypothesis of the tv holding back the picture to match the sound might be plausible

Thanks for the tests. I have some weird issue. It’s only on wifi. So I bought a powerline and connect the CCU with an Ethernet cable
